“God the Only Cause and Creator” was the subject of the Lesson-Ser-mon in all Churches of Christ, Scientist, on Sunday, June 5. The Golden Text was: “Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created” (Revelation 4:11). - Among the citations which comprised the Lesson-Sermon was the following from the Bible: “Thus saith God the Lord, he that created the heavens; and stretched them out; he that spread forth the earth, and that which cometh out of it; he that giveth breath unto the people upon it, and spirit to them that walk therein: I am the Lord: that is my name: and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to graven images” (Isaiah 42:5, 8). The Lesson-Sermon also included the following passage from the Christian Science textbook, “Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures” by Mary Baker Eddy: “He (God) is divine Principle, Love, the universal cause, the only creator, and there is no other self-exist-ence. He is all-inclusive, and is reflected by all that is real and eternal and by nothing else. He fills all space, and it is impossible to conceive of such omnipresence and individuality except as infinite Spirit or Mind” (p. 331).
