Wawaka News by Mrs. Thomas Stigner The Brethren Ladies Aid met at their hall on Thursday for their regular meeting.
Miss Carol Coffman, Miss Jane Franks and Miss Mary Franks spent the week end in Chicago.
Mr. and Mrs. Iris Franks of East Chicago spent the week end here with his parents, who .on Saturday celebrated their silver wedding anniversary.
Mr. and Mrs. Earl Perlich had as Sunday guests Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Perlich and Mr. and Mrs. Dean Perlich of Churubusco.
Mr. and Mrs. Linville Myers entertained about twenty-five members of the Fellowship Group on Sunday evening.
Miss Imogene Sontchi has returned home from Indianapolis, where she spent several days last week. ‘
Miss Doris Donley and her roommate, Miss Ruth Clough of South Bend, spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Donley. The girls are student nurses at the Fort Wayne Methodist Hospital.
Mrs. Elmer Magnuson had as Sunday guests Mr. and Mrs. Earl Roe and family of South Bend, Mr. and Mrs. Warren Zimmerman and family of Gary, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Magnuson of Garrett, and Kenneth Magnuson and son of Albion.
On Saturday evening, April 2, Mrs. Theron Kurtz entertained the Ladies of the Brethren Church by giving a shower for Miss Beth Hoover, bride-to-be, at the home of Mrs. Vern Neufer. iu

A reception was given Pastor and Mrs. Ross and family at the Grange Hall, Tuesday evening. Approximately 90 guests were in attendance. An impromptu program consisting of readings, singing and a style show and dialogue was ‘enjoyed by all. A pound shower was given the guests of honor.

Pollen Trap for Bees
A pollen trap and distributor has been made by J. C. Kremer, Michigan state college research horticulturist. With the trap L.. was able to gather a pint of pollen from the feet of the bees as they returned to the hive. This pollen was then taken more than a hundred miles away and placed in another hive equipped with a distributor. Bees leaving this hive to visit apple trees carried the pollen with them.
