“Unreality” was the subject of the Lesson-Sermon in all Churches of Christ, Scientist, on SundaﬁApril 3. The Golden Text was: “Thou hast dealt well with thg servant, O Lord, according unto thy word . . . . Through thy precepts I get understanding: therefore I hate every false way” (Psalms 119:65, 104). Among the citations which comprised the Lesson-Sermon was the following from the Bible: “For thus saith the Lord that created the heavens; God himself that formed the earth and made it;~he hath established it, he created it not in vain, he formed it to be inhabited: I am the Lord; and there is none else” (Isaiah 45:18). e, The Lesson-Sermon also included the following passage from -the Christian Science textbook, “Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures” by Mary Baker Eddy: “The visible universe and material man are the poor counterfeits of the invisible universe and spiritual man. Eternal thing: (verities) are God'’s thoughts as they exist in_the spiritual realm of the real... Temporal things are the thoughts of mortals and are the unreal, being the opposite of the real or the spiritual and eternal” (p. 387).
