Mr. and Mrs. Ira Hostetler were honored Sunday for their fiftyseventh wedding anniversary. Guests were Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Hostetler, Mr. and Mrs. Gene Keasey and children of South Bend, Mrs, Roy Emmitt, Mr. and Mrs. Carlyle Wyse and children of Goshen, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Jones and son Quin, and Mr. and Mrs. Dwight Yoder dnd children, Stephen and Patricia.
Funeral services were conducted on Sunday afternoon in the Methodist church for Mr. Amos Greenawalt, a life-long resident of LaGrange county. He had been a patient in the LaGrange hospital for several days, and died on February 9. His only survivors were 2 neices and a nephew. His wife preceeded him in death in 1939.
Mr. and Mrs. Ed Gustafson entertained members of the Church of God at a social gathering in honor of the February birthdays on Monday evening. Those who had birthdays were Ed Gustafson, Rev. Heintzleman, Mrs. Ira Kauffman, Corrine, Schlabach, Rose Nelson and Ruby Christner. Refreshments of ice/ cream, cake and coffee were served.
Funeral services were conducted on Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 in the Rock Run Church of the Brethren for Mrs. George Swartzlander, who died early Monday at the Kendallville hospital following an operation she had underwent a week ago. She is survived by her husband, George, a brother and sister, and a grandson,
Mr. and Mrs. Dail Seagly took their, son Richard to Bloomington on Sunday to resume his studies at Indiana U. The Seaglys came back to Indianapolis and remained several days. Due to sickness, Richard was unable to return on Wednesday to begin the new semester.
Miss Adah Yoder is taking a vacation from the telephone office for an indefinite time. Mrs. Roy Jones is the new relief operator.
Dinner guests Sunday of James and Polly Greenawalt were Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Greenawalt of Goshen. Afternoon callers were Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Longnecker and son David of Kendallville and Mr. and Mrs. Clayton Greenawalt.
Pfe. Ralph Wiler, who has been stationed at Camp Kilmer, N. J,, received orders for overseas duty recently and sailed for Germany on February 14. He expects to be gone eighteen months.. >
