Mrs. O. J. Marty was hostess to the L.A.S. at an all-day meeting Thursday. Seventeen ladies were present and the day was spent quilting. Th‘e/ president, Mrs. Nellie Prough, led the devotions and conducted a short business session. :
Mrs. Paul Rink, daughter Kay and Mr. Ilene Kauffman spent Wednesday afternoon at the Ralph Kline home. .
Mrs. Rosa Kline attended the S. and E. Farm Bureau District Conference in Fort Wayne Friday and Saturday, and was an overnight guest of her daughter, Mrs. Iva Kirk.

Dr. Fleck of Wittenburg College filled the pulpit of our local church Sunday morning and conducted the .communion services.
Mr. and Mrs. Leland Kauffman entertained the Loyal Lutherans at their home in Goshen Friday evening. Nineteen were present. Games, stunts and contests furnished the entertainment. Refreshments were served.
Mrs.' V. M. Shaffer and Mrs. Nellie Schrock spent Tuesday morning in Elkhart.

The i{ocal fire department extinguished a fire Satunday afternoon at the house belonging to Mrs. Ethel Sparrow and occupied by Mr. and Mrs. C. Martin. The roof and upstairs were damaged badly by the blaze.
