RABBIT SEASON ENDS JAN. 10

TRAPPING ON 15th

Hunters were reminded , this week that the open season on rabbits ends at sundown January 10 but that fur-bearing animals may be hunted or trapped until noon on January 15. . State law provides that trappers may posses any raccoon, opossum, skunk, mink or muskrat or the untanned hide or fur thereof for five days after the closing day of the trapping season. Licensed fur buyers may possess hides or furs for sixty days after the trapping season ends. Within that sixty-day period, all fur buyers also must make a written report to the Conservation Department concerning all purchases and sales of furs they have made. ~ In order to obtain a survey of ‘the annual harvest of wildlife in the state, Pittman- Robertson ‘project leaders again will mail questionnaires to more than 20,000

THE LIGONIER BANNER

hunters, trappers and fishermen of Indiana. Details concerning these questionnaires will be announced shortly by William B. Barnes, Pittman-Robertson . leader in charge of this project. :
