Robert Allen, son of Mr. and Mrs. Wilson Allen, Ligonier, was united in marriage with Miss Esther Faye Smiley, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Smiley, Peru, Ind., last Sunday, November 7 at 3:00 p.m. in Peru’s new Civic Center. o

- Preceeding the ceremony, Mrs. Dale Smiley, the bride’s sister-in-law, sang “With This Ring I-Thee Wed” and “Always”, accompanied by Mrs. Arthur Coffey, Kansas, 111.,, aunt of the bride.

Before an alter of banked ferns flanked with seven-branch candleabra, the Rev. A. R. Osborne of the Peru Presbyterian Church, performing the double ring ceremony. :

_ The bride, given in marriage by her father, was attired in a slipper satin gown with ruffles of alternating lace and satin and a halo of seed pearls with a three quarter length veil. She carried a Bible trimmed with satin streamers and an orechid.

Miss Betty Weaver, maid of honor, wore a green tafetta gown of similar design as the bridalgown. Her headress was a band of fluted faille and her flowers were a cascade of pastel chrysanthemums. :

l The bridesmaids, Mrs. Norman ‘Mullett, Mrs. James Blair and Miss }Loretta Cunningham were attired ‘in gowns, blue, yellow and pink respectively. Their braided headdresses were caught on either side with rosebuds. They carried cascades of chrysanthemums complementing their gowns. ; ~ Mary O’Conner, flower girl, wore a white satin gown and a veil like the bride’s. Ushers were the bride’s three brothers, Dale, Rex and Ray Smiley. . Richard Allen, Fort Wayne, served his brother as best man. A reception was held in the Civic Center dining room following ceremony. After the reception, the bride and groom left on a motor trip and after November 15 will be at home at 701% W. Walnut St., in Nappanee, Ind. The bride is a graduate of Peru High School and of the International Business College, Fort Wayne. The groom graduated from Van Wert High School and from International Business 'Colleg. He is employed by Cappes Kitchen Cabinet, Inc., Nappanee.
