The elementary rooms -celebrated Halloween by parties in their rooms. near the close of school last Friday. The children masked and paraded through the rest of the rooms and before the high schogl classes. . =

Our appreciation and, we are sure, the appreciation of the citizens for. the small amount of soaping of windows and other vandalism which took place during this Halloween season. .

The annual report to the North Central Association and the report of attendanee for the first period of the year was sent to the proper officials this week. The amount. of state school support money 'received by the local school is based on the average daily attendance .of pupils in school. Every day’s absence counts against’ the school and cuts down

on this amount. According’ to these figures, the annual daily attendance for high school was 111. If it had been 112%, another unit would have been received. This means that if 1% pupils more had been present each day, the local school would have received an additional $2,400 from the state. All that is not received from the state must necessarily be made up by local taxation. :
