THE FACE OF AN ANGEL—but a practical, ‘'very much alive young lady is lovely Lurene Tuttle who plays the part of “Dr. Mary Leland” in CBS’s daytime drania “The Guiding Light”. Acting came naturally to this red haired, grey eyed lass. Dad { was a clever comedian and director who acted in plays which he produced—so Lurene was not without inspiration. She likes radio because it offers so many varied and interesting roles—result, radio likes her because she does them well! ROD CAMERON, cast in Allied Artists’ “Strike It Rich” toppled 25 feet from atop an oil tank while “mixing” with Don Castle. Cameron (A Culver, Ind. grad) has fought in some seven films, says “I'll do my fighting on the ground from now on.” . HOLLYWOOD casting directors interviewed about 200 youngsters for the parts of undernourished war orphans for “The Boy With Green Hair” (just previewed in N Y.). If healthy enough to get permits to act—they didn't look the parts. Lead by Lt. Col. David W. Allerdice, commanding the 113th Fighter Squadron from Stout Field, the Indiana Air Guardsmen pilots will be without exception eombat-flight veterans of World War 2. As a group, the pilots represent several thousand hours of actual overseas combat flights and they are typica!l of the seasoned airmen who have returned to civilian life in Indiana to “keep a hand in” as National ‘Guard fliers. Stout Field’s speedy F-51’s have recently taken part in numerous air shows and ceremonies-through-out the state but the Richmond show will be the first where the fighters have landed. - These same fighters always fly—in ‘drill’ practice or in air show assignments—fully armed with F-51 standard .50 cal. machine guns. - .
