The Order of the Eastern Star will hold their regular meeting on Tuesday night at 7:30 at the Masonic Hall.
Rev. J. J. Beisiegee of Center, Indiana was here Monday and called on his niece and family, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Chiddister.
The Rev. G. Ben Hershberger, pastor of the First Methodist Church, has been selected as one of the 500 Methodist ministers of Indiana to attend the annual Indiana School of the Prophets at Purdue University, September 6th to 10th. The School will broadcast over station WBAA, Lafayette, Indiana, daily at five in the afternoon. : ‘

The American Legion Auxiliary will hold their. 4th Distriet Birthday Party at the Marion Veterans Hospital, Marion, Indiano on September 9. :

The Home Eec. Club of Perry township held its September meeting Wednesday at the home of Miss Clara Herald with Mrs. H. Herald as assistant hostess. 26 members were present. : Answer to roll call was How and Where we startéd housekeeping. : The topic was How Much Should We Help Our Newly Married Children given by Mrs. Charles Saggers and a round table discussion was held .on the subject. The song of the month-was “Onward Christian Soldiers.”
A very interesting project lesson was given on° Gettying Your Money’s Worth In Buying given by Mrs. Merrill Grooms and Mrs. Charles Moser.
There were two birthdays celebrated by the club: Mrs. Dean Hite and Miss Clara Herald.

Mrs. John Gard and grandson returned from Albany, Ga., after spending several weeks with her daughter, Mrs. Forrest Clawson, Jr., and family. Mr. Clawson is stationed at Turner Field with the U. S. Army Air Corps.
Mrs. Charles Winebrenner and daughter Maralena, spent all of last week in Matoon, 111.,, the guests of Mrs. Winebrenner’s sister, Mrs. M. A. Reinhart, -and other relatives and friends.
The Dorcas Society of the Seventh Day Adventist church of Wolf Lake held an all day meeting at the home of Mrs. William Sharp Wednesday.
- Francis E. Rench returned to his home in Portland, Maine, last Thursday after spending a week here with his mother, Mrs. Marie Rench. He also visited in the home of his consins, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Shell and family.
- Mrs. Melvin Drain returned home Tuesday from a three weeks trip thru the west.

There are 83 incorporated places erved and it is estimated by the company that the territory has a population of 833,000 of which 722,000 reside in Indiana.
The directors of the company have elected C. V. Sorenson vicepresident and general manager of the entire Indiana & Michigan Electric Company. Mr. Sorenson will establish executive offices of the company in Fort Wayne.
