Utilizing Pear Wastes Conversion of the sugars in pear waste into feed yeast is a new process now being explored in the state of Washington. Normal accumulation of pear waste of factories In this state amounts to about 9600 tons annually. Laboratory workers have developed a process for continuous fermentation of press Juice from pear waste to produce feed yeast of high nutritional value, 60 pounds of dry yeast heing obtained from each ton of the wet p-ar waste. The present handicap to commereial operation is lack of a suitable con...uous press for efficient . separation of pear juice from the pomace. :

“Man” was the subject of the Les-son-Sermon, in all Churches of Christ, Scientist, on Sunday, September 5. The Golden Text was: “Who is a wise man and endued with knowlcdge among you? let him shew out of a good conversation his works with)meekness of wisdom” (James 3:13). '
Among the citations which comprised the Lesson-Sermon was the following from the Bible: “Even so we, when we were children, were in bondage under the elements of the world: But‘when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law, To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons. And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father. Wherefore thou art no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ” (Galatians 4:8-7). .The Lesson-Sermon also included the following passage from the Christian Sclence textbook, “Secience and Health with Key to the Seriptures” by Mary Baker Eddy: “God has endowed man with inalienable rights, among which are self-gov-ernment, reason, and conscience. Man is properly self-%overned only when he is guided rightly and governed by his Maker, divine Truth and Love” (p. 106).
