Jaboticaba—Grape of Brazil
The jaboticaba tree of Brazil is strikingly beautiful in appearance. Branching into a symmetrical dome-like shape, with dense light green foliage, it reaches a height of from 12 to 30 feet. Its grapelike fruit grows on the trunk, from exposed roots to major branches and on even to the ends of the twigs. When heavily fruited it is a curious sight. A visitor is apt to think that giant beetles are attached to the bark.

RECORD NUMBER OF WOMEN FISHING IN INDIANA NOW
The number of Hoosier women fishing this summer probably is the greatest in the state’s history.
This prediction by John H. Nigh, director of the Indiana. Departmentl of Conservation, was based on the heavy increase in requests for fe—male fishing licenses during the past several weeks. These requests for additional women’s permits are coming in from county clerks and various business men who serve as agents for license sales. {
Donald R. Hughes, director ofi the Fish and Game division, said the demand for female fishing licenses is so great that it may bei necssary to order another printing in addition tp the 250,000 originally: prepared for this year, |
Figures on the last fiscal year,‘%? which ended July 1, are not yet compiled but only 127,836 fishing licenses were sold to women during the 1946-47 fiscal year. sl For fifty cents, a Hoosier womanfg] may buy a license to fish a year in! her own state, and she must thavj‘
such a permit if she is 18 or older.

Like the men, women veterans of military service receive free licenses.
Conservation officials were un-— able to offer a reason for the big gain in female fishing license sales unless it is ‘an increasing desire on the part of Indiana women to get outdoors.”

The plain truth is that this pace-setting Chevrolet offers major quality advantage after major quality advantage not available in other cars in its field; and, in addition, Chevrolet prices are now obviously and outstandingly lower than those of any other car that even remotely approaches it in quality. : , Thus, Chevrolet and only Chevrolet offers the Big-Car comfort of the original and outstanding Unitized Knee-Action Ride . . . the Big-Car performance and dependability of a world’s champion Valve-in-Head engine . . . the Big-Car beauty and luxury of Body by Fisher . . . the Big-Car safety of Fisher Unisteel construction, the Unitized Knee-Action Ride and Positive- .
