“Everlasting Punishment” was the subject of the Lesson-Sermon in all Churches of Christ, Scientist, on Sunday, November 3. The Golden Text was: “The Lord is known by the judgment which he executeth: the wicked iz snared in the v;'ork of his own hands” (Psalms 9:16). Among the citations which comprised the Lesson-Sermon was the following from the Bible: “Go and proclaim these” words toward the north, and say, Return, thou backsliding Israel, saith the Lord; and I ‘will not cause mine anger to fall upon you: for I am merciful, saith the Lord, and I will not keep anger for ever. Return, ye backsliding children, and I will heal your backslidings” (Jeremiah 3:12, 22), “He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy” (Proverbs 28:13). : The Lesson-Sermon also included the following passages from the Christian Science textbook, “Science and Health with Key to the Secriptures” by Mary Baker Eddy: “Covering iniquity will prevent prosperity and the ultimate triumph of any cause. Ignorance of the error to be eradicated oftentimes subjects you to its abuse” (p. 446). “Though error hides behind a lie and excuses guilt, error cannot forever be concealed. Truth, through her eternal laws, unveils errer” (p. 542). :
