Christian Science 111 Lincolnway West Church Services at 11 A. M. “Probation after Death” was the subject of the Lesson-Sermon in all Churches of- Christ, Scientist, on Sunday, October 27. - The Golden Text was: “Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord kath promised to them that love him” (James 1:12). Among the citations which comprised the Lesson-Sermon was the following from the Bible: “Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for ‘the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality” (I Corinthians 15:51-53). The Lesson-Sermon also included the following passage from the Christian Science textbook, “Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures” by Mary Baker Eddy: “We know that all will be changed ‘in the twinkling of an eye,’ when the last trump shall sound; but this last call of wisdom cannot come till mortals have already yielded to each iesser call in the growth of Christian character. Mortals need not fancy that belief in the experience of death will awaken them to a glorified being” (p. 291). = D
