After the ceremony a reception was held for the immediate families of the couple at the bride’s home. Those attending the wedding were Mrs. Nadine Elser and son Jerry, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Franklin, Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Franklin, Mrs. George Harkenrider and Cal Mault, Fort Wayne; Mr. and Mrs. Robert Ganger, Goshen; Mr. and Mrs. William Topper and 'Wava Jones, Wawaka; Mr. and Mrs. William Schelly and daughter and Mr. and Mrs. Paul Stiffner, Ligonier. The bride was associated before her marriage with the Wirk Garment corporation at Ligonier. The groom served as technician five in the armed services four years, where he was wounded while in Germany. A.M. in the Lutheran Parsonage at Kokomo. The Rev. Carl E. Ahlbrand officiated at the nuptial rites. Following a brief honeymoon in the south, the newly wed couple will reside in Kokomo.
The bride is a granddaughter of Mrs. E. E. Kline of Cromwell and a niece of Mrs. Paul Beverforden of Ligonier. She formerly resided in Ligonier and attended Ligonier High School for two years. ‘
Mr. and Mrs. Harry Fahl and daughter Paulyne and Mrs. Nancy Stiver were Sunday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Pollock.
Miss Grace E. Davidson of New York City spent the week-end with her sister Mr. Walter Robinson, Jr. Mrs. Davidson was accompanied by Miss Josephine Ziemba of Mas-! sachusetts. They both regently, received discharges from the Army Nurse Corps and had served together in England. The girls were enroute to the University of Minnesota where they will enter school. ‘
Mrs. Harmon Harper of Cromwell entertained a group at bridge Monday evening at her home. Bridge and Tripoli were played and prizes at bridge were won by Mrs. Marion Calbeck, Mrs. Sam Patton and Mrs. Fred Bowen, prize at tripoli went to Mrs. Glen Larrison of Cromwell.
Mrs. O. M. Rager and Mrs. Chester Hile arranged a surprise birthday party on Mrs. Earl Taylor last Thursday evening at the Taylor home. Other guests were Mrs. Floyd Steller, Mrs. Harry Doll, Mrs. Mary Van Aman, Mrs. Harmon Harper of Cromwell and Mrs. Coral Surfuss. The evening was spent playing bridge and the prize was awarded to Mrs. Coral Surfuss.
Members of the Progress Club will meet Monday evening, October 7th with Mrs. C. N. Griffith at her home. Mrs. F. A. Churchill will speak on the opera “Mikado” by Gilbert and Sullivan. -
