Donations from any mother, whether or not a member of the organization are solicited and will be welcomed. We appreciate the fine ‘Bpirit -of - cooperation shown by the ‘general public in_ all activities of our mgsniyetien. . . o : Next week we again send cookies ‘and do-nuts to:the Elkhart Canteen. We also are sending home-made cookies to the Veterans’ Hospitals. Members are requested to bring their baked contributions for the hospitals to the regular meeting of the Unit| on Friday evening, November 17.| They will be packed on Saturday and shipped to the hospitals. i We request that those “members who - cannot bring cookies for this project, contribute any of the following much needed personal articles for the comfort and aid of our disabled veterans: Toothpaste or powder, razors and blades, white handkerchiefs, stationery, cigarettes, ward slippers, bed bags, tray napkins, small radios, and rags for weaving rugs, large size afghans (4%x2% yds.), bed quilts, jig-saw . puzzles. Specifications for bed bags can be secured from the Unit secretary, Mrs. Will Green. There is urgent need for all the ‘foregoing articles in our hospitals and citizens as well as all members can make a real contribution to the war effort by sending, each month, some article. There is a war worker in your neighborhood. Please give your contribution to her. All cash contributions should be made to the secretary, Mrs. Will Green.. Thursday, December 7, Pearl Harbor Day will be observed on a nationwide scale’ with the sale of the Unit! flower, the poinsettia.
