Miss Jane Spurgeon of Chicago was the guest over the week end of Miss Helen' Spurgeon. John Spurgeon of Toledo wag the guest of Tom Spurgeon. - A wardrobe wvalued at more than 3100.“';* worp by beauiful Jean Arthur, so-starred with ldward Arnold in the emart comedy “Basy Living"” which opens Sunday at the Crystal Two dable coate that she wears would have pald the production cost on the picture for two weeks. The studio tried to insure both fora a total ‘of $BO,OOO, but there were no takers because of. the danger of cigarette burns and other damage in a rowdy cafe scene in which they were used in the picture. One of ‘the coats, sent from New York by Joeckel, was insured for $20,000, but only to cover its transportation and delivery to Paramount. The other was made esnecially by Willard George of Los Angeles. A studio policeman was assigned as a special guard to watch the coats at all times on the set. ~ There are seven other fur coats in' the picture, with o total value of $lB,OOO, but Miss Arthur appears in 'only two of them. In addition, Travis Banton, studio stylist has designed an expensive silk evening gown; a tea gown and two street costumes for her. All of whichl made Miss Arthur the envy of Paramount’sother lady stars the irony of it all being that off screen Jean Arthur 8 one of the most plainly dressed women in the film colony. _ “Wasy Living” is the story of & working girl who is literally hit om the head with & fur coat valued at $50,000 and thien has to live up to the coat. The brilliant cast includes Ray Milland, Luis Alberni, Mary Nash and a score of others. The story was written 'ty Preston Sturges and directed by Mitchell Leisen.

R, No. 4 LaGrange and found destroyed by fire in a ditich alongeide [State Road 20 nlear the Elkhart river bridge a mile east of State Road 13 in Blkhart county was the subject of a state police investigation.
