CHURCH SERVICES
The Meéthodist Church : 0. J. Beardsey, Mindster .... The Merger Services 9:30-11:18. The afttention of the whole community is called to ‘the fact that School will soon start! The Methodist church welcomes into the community the teaghing staff, and expresses good cheer and congratulations to all those who will be in atkendance. There {will be special music Sunday morning. The sermonsubject will be “Devotion Brings Happiness.” The IChurch School will institute a new class next Sunday morning. The clags will be for the young married people and those nf a similar age. During the last two months, there have been mno evening services, bhut such servees will again be held beginming with Sundaly mnight. The subject for the sermon will e “So Near Yet So Far.” A joint meeting of the Church Sdhool and Officia} Boards will be held on Monday evening at 7:30.

Sparta Christian Church Vacaton season is now over and many of us are glad to be back to our homes and our own places of worship. Personally, I thank God I was niot born in an Indian hut even in U. 8. A. : Now we are returning to our regular church schedule’ with Sunday School and worship services beginning at 9:30. Evening service at 7:00. - We are expecting a good attendance in all our services next Sunday. White Egrets mear Rome City
A flock of white egrets numbering approxmately fifty which has bheen summering at West lake near Rome Rity, is attrac§ing much attention from persons visiting the lake, The birds rarely reach latiudes as far north as this, observers stated. It is believed that the unusually high waters of thie lake caused the birds to select it for their summer home. Egretg, once slaughtered almost to the point of extinction for their plumes, are no generally protected by state laws and are said to be becoming bplentiul in the South once more.
