The public works administration’s fourth nation wide comstruction program began last week with allotment of $50,000,000 to eliminate pvercrowding and fire hazards in schools. . President Roosevelt gave final approval of 280 projects in 41 stutes which will replace burned school buildings remove fire daugers through alterations and alieviate crowded conditions in schools by construction of additions and new buildings. : The school allotments—-comprising outright grants of = $17,091,658 and loans of s94l,Boo—were made under provisions of the PWA exteunsion act authorizing grants for school projects wii*h would elimizate structur al, fire and sanitary hazards. Other (projects givesl final approv, al included: : ‘Waterloo, Ind—A grant of $36,600 to the school town of Waterloo and irant school towmship, DeKalb county, for construction of a sohool huildIng and alterations to the existing School estimated to cost $80,,000. The present building, 76 to 80 years old, has no facilities for physical eduuca.

Nurse In Two Auto Accidents Two automobile accidents, one in an ambulance, left Mrs. Lottie 5. Keler, 45 of Fort Wayne in critjcal condition at Elgin, 111. She was injured first when an automobile went into a ditch mnear Hampshlire, 111. An ambulance taking her to B hofpiptal overtirned 12 miles northwest of Higin while passing another car. Mr. and Mrs. Glen Stayner returned on Monday afternoon from a northern trip and are visiting Mrs. Charles Jackson.
