Two short change operators worked their game successfully on Mrs. Blrer Risk at the Central Cafe, Columbus City. One proffered a $2O bill when he bought two cigars. Another offered a $lO bill for a package of cigarettes. They then jugg'ed the change about so that afterwards Mrs. Risk discovered she was out $lO. When the racket was discovered the men, about 25 years of age, had escaped.

THIRD SOUGHT IN BANK CASE Warrant Issmed For Lawremee N. Miller In Closing of Columbia federal warrant has been issued the arrest of Lawrence N. Miller, present address is sald to be 0. on a charge of conspiracy to violate the 1935 federal banking act in connection with the forced closing of the Celumbia State bank at Columbia City in February it was revealed. \ ' * Miller, it has been learned, is aware of the warrant against him and has told friends that he will appear before Willlam D. Remmel, United States commissioner within a short time for arraignment. Friends of Millers, it is understood are now attempting to raise bond, which will be necessary .following his arraignment. H. Alton Beeson, former president of the Columbia State bank and Elmer F. Harsch of Warsaw former president of the Consolidated Motors Inc., of Lima, O. arec harged jointly with Miller to misapply funds of the pank through loans to the Consolidated Motors, Inc.

Fisher, director ol the Indiana Alr Tour, which wil' visit Goshen Friday, June 2§, was In Goshen Tuesday to inapect the airport and to make final arrangements for the tour’s local ston. The tour will leave Indianapolis on June 22 and will fly approximately 1,600 mies during the week, visiting more than a score of cities. Accompanying Mr. Fisher Tuesday was Harold O. Warren, Jr., publicity director for the air tour. Both are of Indianapolis, where Mr. Fisher s also aeronautics director for the Indianapolis Chamber of Commerce.

A reduction of $15,000,000 in the 1936 assessed valuation of Indians raliroad properties was reported by the state boad of tax commissiones.

Falls Under Dise.

Arrest Youty For Burglary. State Patrolman Sam Patton and Sheriff Don Cole arrested a youth giving his name as Tommy Mayer 20 of Detroit in comnection with burglaries of several Hamilton lake cottages.

Reportg of cottage break-ins were being investigated by the officers. ‘When they arrived at the cottage own ed by Robert Crane of Auburn which had been entered, they found Mayer in the building. Among the many things he is alleged to have taken were radios and an outboard motor.

He was placed in the Steuben county jail. Burglary charges probably will be filed against him.

Hope For Early Adjournment Fading Speake, Joseph W. Byrns said that he did not Dbelieve congress could adjourn by June 6 the goal of administration leaders, becaiße of the snarl in the senate over the tax bill.

Byrns said that he thought it would be the latte, part of June before congress quits. Should adjournment not be reached by June 6 Byrns said three day recesses would be in order to permit members to attend the republican national convention In Cleveland beginning June 9.
