= '~ ‘Feeding Amos” . I got my pig the 28th of May. He was given to me as a graduation presetn. He weighed 85 pounds on June Ist, when I started feeding him. He was 2 months 2 weeks and 3 days old. I put him in the barn the first few days, so that he, woulg not g 0 away until his pen was ready. I named him “Amos” after the famous radio charac ‘ter. He was afraid of me at first but I was kind to him and he soon became gentle ~ ' At first my pig didn’t like his baths and he let- me know it. He likes them fine now. I feed him a ration of groind wheat and corn made into a wet mash using milking when I have it or else water, I aim to keep salt before him and keep his pen clean.

I have a pen that can be moved so have litle difficulty keeping iti sanitary.

~Amos has made a gain of almost ‘wo pounds daily since I began feedng him. '

I have studied the feeding and eare of pigs angd from my experiences gained I am now taking care of fourteen shoats, using the same method I followed with my club pig, I believe a cheaper gain could be made using skim milk but since we sell whole milk it is not always available for me to use it.
