' . This heavy loss may easily be prevented this year if local growers will treat their seed oats before sowing this spring using the familiar . formaldehyde treatment. Use one pint of formaldehyde mixed with 5 gallons: of water and gprinkle this solution slowly on 40 or 50 bushels of oats as they are being shoveled over is the recommendations from Purdué University Agricultural Extension Department Cover the grain about 8 hours and it will be ready to sow. If necessary, sack the seed and sow it later, It is not necessary to plant immediately after the treatment. !
