Wheat Acreage Exceeds Last Year. An aggregate of 43,600,000 acres of winter wheat was sown this fall, the U. S. agriculture department reported today. : This acreage was 102.0 per cent of the acreage sown in this country the previous year. Conditions of this year’s winter wheat on December 1 was 86 per cent of normal. Condition of the 1928 crop on December 1 a year ago was 84.4 of normal. e

MecNaught Still Uncertain,

A leter to Indiana Anti-Saloon League headquarters received Friday from Samuel P. McNaught, acknowledged his appointment as superintendent of the Indiana league, but asked that he be permitted to consider it before accepting it. MecNaught is superintendent of the lowa league.

Furst Farm Sold

The Charles Furst farm was sold at auction Tuesday to the highest bidder Ralph Smith was the highest bidder. The farm is located on road No. 2 and is a very desirable place.
