tration was forty-four cents while the average tax levy during the past eight vears of Republican extravagance was 75% cents and this in spite of the fact that valuatons have almost doubled. :
Why should it be necessary for Republcan administrations to spend so much more money and hfve so little to show for it? ,
What it dces show is inability to manage the affairs of the City in a businesslifte manner; a . failure to grasp the requirements of official position and a reckiess disregard for the interests of the taxpayer. This incompetency is costing the city thousands of dollars each year with no. prospects of relief under a continuation of the present rule. . - Do the people of Ligonier desire to squander their good money. just for the privilege of living under a Republican administration? We hardly think so as these are times when tax payers who are heing taved to the limit, cannot afford to payv for such a luxury. : : Such wanton extravagance should defeat the Republican tickiot on November sth.
