INDIAN BES;IRVATIONVIS ASKED.‘ New Home Along St. Joseph River in Michigan is Sought by Red Skins - oi Three States, A plea for the establishment of an Indian reservation in Michigan along the St. Joseph river just north of South Bend, will be made to the United States Department of the Interior at Washington by the Indian council of the tribes living now in scattered regions in Indiana, Michigan, Wisconsin and Illinois. : The reservation project, will be laid before the Washington authorities after the mecting of the Indian council ‘which is scheduled to be held in Niles, September 26th.: - . : The first plans for the creation of a new reservation were aired at a powwow held near Niles last Sunday on the estate of Dr. Law-Man-In, Sioux chief of Oklahoma, which bmught .more than 200 Indian men and women together froM over the ‘Middle West. . : The Sioux chief has made his estate .near Niles the hezul('m:n'l-.\x's: for the Aboriginal American . The pow-wow at Niles on the estate of the Sioux chief was the signal for the gathering of many- notables in the tribes of the Middle Westi. The occasion was celebrated by feasting and ‘tribal ceremonies. Among the tribes represented were the Pottawatomies, Ottawas, Chippewas, Mohawks, Sioux, Cherokees, Creeks Winlnebagos‘ Oneidas, Delawares and Senecas. : :
