Judge Biggs Is Better Attaches at the M. E. hospital ‘at Fort Wayne issued a report that the condition of Judege A. F. Biggs of the Noble-Whitley circuit court is much improved. Although no visitors are permitted to his sick room outside of Mrs. Biggs and daughter Mrs. Grabam Lyon unless complications develop hopes are entertained or the patient’s recovery. Sinus trouble said to have been the source of the illness is now practically gone, but there is an affliction of the ears. This has resulted din deafness which it iz said will last only a few davs.
Must Be Placed Right
An order irom the posmffi’b,- department makes it mmandatory thuat all rural mail- boxes be placed .on the side of the road so that it he at the rural carrier’s right as he approaches. The recent legislature passed a law that drivers of cars can not- pass to the left side of the road except in going around another car. Therefora it rural carriers must drive across the road to deposit mail in the boxes they would be violating the law, : The postoffice department has ordered that no mail shall be placed in boxes that are on the wrong side of the road after June 16. :
Bandit Pleads Guilty.
Confessing complicity in the robberies of three Indiana banks Stanley Canfield will be sentenced at Tipton. Canfield was arrested in a Fort Wayne hotel Tuesday after an extensive search had been made for him. He confessed participation in two robberies of the State Bank at Hobbs and one: at Cutler.’

$535.40 clear profit was made by the Home Division of the Noble County Farm Bureau at the County shows given before large appreciative esudiences in Ligonier on May 21 amd In Kendallville on May 23. The success of the undertaking” was due in no small measure to the splendi@ cooperation of the Chamber of Commerc in gavh of these cities.

~ The Elkhart city council by a vote of eight to one voted to purchase the site . for a municipal airport. The purchase of the land has been opposed by a group of taxpayers which had remonstrated against the issuance of bonds, but the state tax board ruled in favor of the city. |

Killed When Auto Hits Planter
- Clem Warner 38 a farmer died Wednesday afternoon in Epworth hospital at South Bend from a fractured. skull received Tuesday afternoon when a corn planter on which he was riding was struck by a truck of the Ward Baking Co., driven by Dewey Rowe.

Artuhr P. Melton Gary has been appointed by Governor Harry G. Leslie as a member of the state highway gommission to succeed George K. Harshman of Crown Point resigned. Harshman’'s resignation takes effect June 15. Both are democrats. .

Students to Training Camp.
Students of the Kendallville high school have enrolled in the citizens’ military training camp which opens June 20. at Fort Benjamin Marrison, near Indianapolis it has been announced. They Will get a thirty day taste of army life and training under the direction of the United States regular army, and at no expense to themselves. Ligonier students have made application for admission to the camp.

One hilled Three Hurt
One person was killed and three others critically injured in a fire which destroyed a Mexican tenement house at Hammond. Katrina Conde &, burned to death. Her- mother Mrs. Edro Conde is believed dving and Eldro Conde and an unidentified woman were critically burned. All four were trapped in the blazing house.
