JA written guaranty printed on lithographed bond paper is issued by the dealer to the purchaser at the time of the sale, while all cars carrying the gnaranty also have a windshield sticker on which is printed *'Reconditioned Guaranteed Good Will Used Car.”

The object of the new plan according to M. L. Buck manager of the used car’ department is to provide the purchaser with concrete evideunce of the good faith of the dealer who makes the -sale. . ! :

* “Many of our reconditioned used cars are priced within the range of the cheanest new car” Mr. Buck stated, “If the money were invested in the small new car the purchaser would receive a standard warranty with it. In making a similar purchase of a - good used car he is entitled to a like mea-

sure . of protection. . “We know that our dealers’ reconditioned used cars are capable of performance comparahble to a smpll new car. (‘(mSéquemly we aim to give the purchaser full assurance of our faith in the car hy backing up our claims In writing.” : .

The familiar figure of “Good Will Oakland” with the slough hat and the inevitahle stogie, is well known. throughout the country through his association with the used car }?l}Sin(‘ss of this company's dealers. ‘ . Nio

Featured on the used car guaranty form is a definition of good will as handed down by the United States Supreme Court., This states that “Good Will is the disposition of the pleased customer to return to the place where he has been \,vell treated..’ . ‘)

Provisions of the used car g'nai'anty are designed to further this attitude on the part of the customer Mr. Buck explniné\d because- they elevate still higher the plane of relations between the dealer in Good Will ysed cars angy the public.
