It appedrs 16 us that “Servettel® will he soid as a convenience to -individuals as - a money-making, proposition to CWHers of r'mnnix_xg houses and hatels: ol u pirticular class. In addition to these two fields the wired summer cottages now numbering considerably in excess of .'_’:'.n.00 must not be overlooked. - Outside u!? the far-reaching’ nature of the markét for this appliance, vou have one advantage which s}i«,mld enable vou to operate at a profit almost from the beginning, instead of going through a long perind of missionary .work which is the case with most new household . appliances, |

It So happens that we are associated with the merchandizing ot the Eureka Vacuum Cleaner, the Kelvinator Klectric Refrigeration and a niumber of other household appliantces and inasmuch as we speciglize in this kind of merchandising we naturally have an opportnity v!u g‘()' over a large

number of'new appliances. ; In many cases, an article which costs $45 or $5O to manufacture lgoks like only £75 or $BO to the average retail buver and this narrow margin for selling and profit forecasts a difficult proposition to anyone , familiar with this kind of selling. ’ On the other hand, in the “Servpeite” vou have an article which can be manufactured in guantities in the approximate meeighborshood of 338 which to the average retail buyer looks like . hundred dollar proposition and we have tried this out go thoroughly that we teel absolutely set in this conviction. : :

The “Servette’ iu . our office here has bheen demonstrated io a considerable number of women whose ideas wduld be normag on what they would expect’ to pay. for such. an appliance and the average of all their estimates was slightly over a hundred dollars. Recently we had as our guest Miss Jessie M. Miss Deßoth was much impressed with the sales possibilities of the ':Servolte" and her guess on the retail price was $llO.. ’

We note with:interest the evidence of the tremendous interest which has been generated among the department stores and large furniture stores in various sections of the country by preliminary - publicity, ‘which has been run by the Grand Rapids Furniture Record and Hardware Age. Also the comment made On the “Servette” by the QJousehold experts of the New York Tribune, Modern Priscilla and other publications. Familiar as we are with the difficulty many strongly " estahlished manufacturers have in securing the endorsement of these critical women on their products, their attitude on the |“Servette” you 'h,avetaoin 25 the “Seryvette” is extremely significant as to ita immediate sales possibilitities. | P : It is our opinion that in the “Servette’’ you have an article with a natural demand, appealing 1o & volume market which can be manufactured and successfully sold on a basis which will give a widespread margin between manufacturing costs and retail price—and this we regard as an advantage which can,be combined with proper merchandising to make this enterprise a highly profi-
