Chiddister and others freeholders and voters of Perry Township Noble Co%n—ty, indiana did on the Bth day of October 1928 file in the office of the Auditor of Noble County Indiana a petition of which the following is-a true copy, to-wit: = “State of Indiana, Noble County, SS: : In _Commissioners’ Court before the Board of Commis- ~ sioners of - Noble County, Indiana. e . In the matter of the petition for the improvement of a certain public highway situated in Perry Township, Nome County, Indiana, to be known as, and
called, the “River Road” : To the Honorable Board of County Commissioners of Noble County Indlana: : ; _ The undersigned freeholders and voters of Perry ‘Township ©Noble County, Indiana respectfully petition the Board of Commissioners of Noble County, Indiana, for the grading draining and paving of a certain highway situated in said township, county and state, which grading, draining and paving are to be done under the laws of the State of Indiana as pro-, vided in sections 7711, 7711 A, "-7712.1 7713; 7714, 7715, and up to and including section 7725 of Burns’ Annotated Indiana Statutes, Revision of 1914, and supplement of 1921, -and all amendments and additions thereto made by any of the Acts passed by the Generdl Assembly of the State of Indiana, pertaining to highways of the character and description herein set out, and which’ said highway “i 8 one continuous highway in said Perry Township, Noble County, Indiana, and is .described as follows, to-wit: commencing at the improved highway known as the Lincoln Highway at a point about twenty rods east of the northwest corner of t he northeast quarter of section twenty eight in said township, thence running north ‘and northwest, following the line of the present existing and established highway through the west half of the soutfie'ast" quarter and the nortthst gquarter of section. twentyone, and the northeast quarter of section twenty, all in said township, to the northwest corner of ‘the northeast quarter of said section twenty, thence west on the north line of said section twenty to the northwest corner. of said section twenty and there to terminate. And petitioners recommend that said - improved highway shall follow as near as may be practical the present laid out -and established highway running along and over the line and route above set out and described, and petitioners show that said proposed improved public highway above described is less than three miles in length; that the same begins at the present existing improved public highway in * said Perry Township ordered improved by your

Board on the petition of Henry Hire and others, and that the same ends at the improved highway in said township ordered improvéd by your Board on the petition of A. N. Claudon and others, thus connecting at either end with an improved public highway. -~ Petitioners ask that said proposed improved highway be drained, g}'aded and paved with stone, gravel or other road paving material, and petitioners recommend *that in the event the same ghall be found suitable and practical for -use, «that said highway be paved with washed gravel, and that said highway be so constructed with proper slope and grade, and with sufficlent drains and culverts, and with a surface -sufficiently solidified as to make a well graded drained and improved highway. : s An petitioners further recommend that said highway be so laid out, improved and constructed to a width not less than the width of said highway as now established and that the traveled portion of said highway when improved shall not be less than eighteen feet in width.
