Some Rare old Relics. Leo Stage hasin his possession some rare old relics in the way of documents. One is a patent deed for land entered in 1811 at the U. 8. Tand office in Cincinnati, Ohio, by John Maroney, great grandfather of Mr. Stage. The deed is dated December 30, 1811, and signed by President James Madison and James Monroe, secretary of state.
The. other document is a copy of the Liberty Hall a newspaper publish ed at Cincinnati, Ohio, March 25, 1813 The paper is a folio, four columns in wid@' and carries some unique an, nouncements.

Celebration is Marred.
The Labor Day celebration at Cromwell was marred by showers of rain which fell during the day. Flagg were displayed on Cavin street in Ligonier but business was generally suspended. ;

Dies at Albion.
Wilson Knox, aged 81, pioneer resident of this county, died Wednesday at the home of his son, W. T. Knox, one mile north of Albion. Death wag due to apoplexy. = :

Girl Chicken Thief Sentenced -Mabel Landler of Richdiond Ind., alleged girl chicken thief was fined $lOO and sentenced to serve _six months in the Indiana women’s prison when she pleaded guilty in circuit court at Plymouth to charges filed against her. v 7 The girl was arrested with her companion Charles Holycross of Niles, Michigan on August 16 by Sheriff Falconbury and a posse of 50 farmers on the Pickerl farm after they were alleged te have been caught in the act of stealing chickens. Petit larceny charges -are pending against Holycrosg. -
Big Dancing Parties.
Record breaking crowds attended the dances at the Waco pavilion Lake Wawasee on Saturday and Sunday nights in spite of the bad weather and on Moncay night. the crowd was also large. Saturday and Sunday were said to be the biggest nights of the seascn at the pavilion. Dancing will continue every night this week including next Sunday and after that there will be dancimg on Wednesday Saturday -an dSunday nights as long as| the weathér permits. ,
Motoreyelist Is Killed
~ When the motrcycle he was riding crashed into a car on the Lincoln Highway near Churubusco Sunday Howard H. Haskins 21 of Aurora 11l 59 was killed. Haskins motorcycle crashed head-on into a machine driven by William Nott of Columlbia City. Haskins’ skull was fractured his leg crushed and his face injured..
Smith to Visit Only One City
Governor Alfred E. Smith democratic presidential nominee will nof speak in South Bend when he makes his invasion of Indiana although heq had been invited to come to that city. He will make but one stop in thig state speaking in Indianapolis some, )time after October 20th.
Man Electrocuted
Attempting to turn on an electric pump switch in the basement of hig home in Gary Martin Broetyis 27 father of two children was electrocuted Monday. His three-year old son saw the tragedy and told his mother of the accident an hour later.
Blue Family Reunion
The annual reunion of the Blug family was held Sunday Sept. 2 at the home of Willis Blue near Syracuse with 48 present. All report a gooed time and a bountiful dinner. The next reunion will be held at thq James Brown home west of Ligonier.

Injury Results in Death.
Dounald Kline aged 20 died in the McDonald hospital in Warsaw early Sunday morning from the effects of an operation he had wundergone a week ago.
Kiine had been in an automobile accident almost a year ago in which he received a dislocated shouldey joint. He received medical attention at that time but the dislocation did not heal as it should have done ang some weeks ago he was given a medi, cal examination and was advised tq have the point reset properly. It was from the effects of this last operation that pleurisy and other c¢omplications developed with the result that after a week of suffering he passed away. :
