' Death of Noted Writer. Funeral services for Col. George W. Harvey who died suddenly at his home Sunday will be conducted privately at his boyhood home of Peacham Vi, Thursday afternoon.

Only the closet of friends will attend the last rites for Harvey whose death removed one of the most picturesque characters from American public and semi-public life. g Colonel Harvey was an editor whose facile writing and whose discerning study are credited with having selected at least two men who later became presidents of the United States oneg was Woodrow Wilson and the other was Warren Harding. '

Harvey was credited with the ‘‘discovery” of Wilson when the latter still was president of Princeion university. Later he broke with Wilson and was a Dbitter enemy of the war-time president in the latter years of Wilsons administration. It was in Colonel Harvey's room af the Blacksione hotel in Chicago thaj republican leaders agreed upon Harding as the presidential candidate in 1920. Harding and Colonel Harvey became close friends and this led ta the appointment of the editor as awmbassador to the court of St. James.
