. Dies in Swan Township Willizm F. Longsworth age 65 yeais died at his home in Swan township in Noble county April 15 1928, Iy Long sworth was bern May 2 1863 in ‘Ohio and was married to Csra Tayler. To this uniou were bora two SOLS, Harry 4nd Elmcer both of Noble couity, vha witli the widow and one brother, Jack Longsworth of California survive. Bold Bandits at Goshen.
Two young well dressed unmasked‘; bandits -Thursday midnight held up and robbed Chris Angelo one .of the' proprietors of the Ilympia Candy kitchen at Goshen of more than $BO in cash and escaped in an automabile. Police (oday\vero searching for the two men. ‘ The two holdups forced Angelo back of the counter and one ordered him to “keep quiet” while the other took the cash from Doth cash registers and the pockets of their victim. A quick report to the!police resulted ina chase that found the police car only two "bl-ocks from the speeding bandit ma‘,chi_ne hut the thieves escaped. =
Night Officer Bowen was notified of the robbery but saw nothing of the thieves here.
Another Sucide
Kdgar Hayvward age 24 years native and life long resident of that community is dead at Stroh. He committed suicide by shooting himself through the head with a 12-gauge gingle barrled shotgun. The top of his head was blown off. The act was committed in the woodshed at the farm home four miles east of Stroh.
To Yote on Daylight Saving
Citizens of Fort Wayne will vote on the question of daylight saving at the primary election on May 8 it has been decided. The -Fort Wayne city council had already adopted an ordinance providing for daylight saving but opposition developed and it was decided to submit the matter to a vote. :
Intluenza Epidemic at Warsaw
More than 50 pupils of Center ward schoel at Warsaw wer absent from school at Warsaw were agbsent from of influenza which has appeared in Kosciusko county during the last few days as an epidemic. Ten more pupils are ill of the mumps.
Trial This Week
All of northern Indiana will be interested in watching the proceedings in the federal court at Fort Wayne beginning today when Clyde A. Walb and V. D. Weaver of LaGrange go on trial, charged with violation of the national banking laws. '
Elks to Initiate.
Tomorrow Tuesday evening April 24th the Ligonier Elks will add eleven members by initiation ceremonies performed by the famous degree team of the Bluffton lodge. The evening's entertainment will conclude with a banguet. :
South Bend Man Dies.
- Newton D. Walter 70 prominent South Bend business man for many .years died Wednesday of apoplexy He had been engaged in the wholesale dry goods business though he had retired a number of years ago. , ‘ Fifteen for Noble 1 - The quota for Noble county at the citizens military training camp this year i fsifteen. Five young men have enlisted up to date. The term. for the camp is from June 20th to July 19th.

Bloomington, Ind., April 23 — Courses of study and teaching staff are announced for a new unit of full time summer instruction to be opened June 16 at Winona Lake, by the Indiana University Extension Division. Students in Acecident
Four young people from Syvracuse high school students figured in an auto accident between Milford and Syracuse Thursday evening when they were enroute to Blosser's Parlk Goshen to attend a party. George Peffly fifteen year old son of Mr. and Mrs. James Peffly was the only person seriously hurt and he was taxei by a Syracuse ambulance to the Gexeral hospital in Elkkhart. He suffered a fracture of the leg and numerous severe cuts and bruises. .
The car, a Buick touring was completely emolished. . Other oc¢cupants of the car were Henrietta Brunjes, Mary Hire and Dean Grady who was driving. The lights from -an approaching car blinded Grady and he struck a tree. :
Steals To Pay For Automobile
Frank Kraft 23 of Elkhart an employe of the Martin Band Instrument Co., was arrested at South Bend when he tried to sell a new $2OO gold-plated trumpet for $4O at a South Bend music store.. He had stolen the {rumpet from the Martin factory and admitted also the theft of another $175 instrument which had been sent to the factory for repairs. Kraft said he had not been working regularly and that he stole the instruments to make a payment on a car which he bought recently. .

Frank Plummer attorney was arrest ed at Wabash after he had been indicted by the grand jury on a charge of illegal possession of liquor. The indictment was returned as a result of the seizure of four gallons of grape wine taken from the basement of the Plummer home by high school boys last week. The boys were discovered in the house by the police during the absence of the Plummer family. .
Held For Death of Passenger
Claude Schiner 40 was arrested Thursday afternoon at Schiner’s home four miles north of South Bend on the Dixie highway and lodged in the county jail in connection with the death last Monday of Charles Stoney merchant policeman. A charge of manslaughter will be filed against Schiner in city court and authorities will seek to have him bound over to the grand jury.
Federal Parole Revoked
Luther Craig 19 of Muncie was in the Marion county jail awaiting removal to Leavenworth penitentiary to serve a two-year setence for robbing the Napoleon Ind., postoffice as a result of revocation of his suspended sentence by Federal Judge Robert C. Baltzell. Craig was arrested several weekks ago ‘at Muncie while driv ing an alleged stolen automobile. . ’ : Building Contract Let. . The city of Nappanee has awarded a contract for the construction of a 'new building for the municipal utility plant to the Hay-Weaver Co., of South Bend for $22,000. Two Fire Alarms.
An alarm from zone 16 Friday noon called the fire department to the residence of Roy Jorg on Lincoln Way west to extinguish a roof blaze on the house. The blaze had eaten a hole in the shingles when arrested. ' A sccond call from: zone 13 toox the department to the J. L. Levy property on East Third street .where sparks from the Schrock greenhouse smoke stack had set fire to the roof of the Levy barn. The damage in both instances was slight.
