Ronald Ford 4 died at Plyimouth from scalds received last Monday when he pulled a kettle of bhoiling water from a stove onto himi and his one-year-old sister Yvonne. The little girl died Wednesday. ;
Down Near Vevay.
Two young rabbits are being mothered by a cat at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Bodey near Vevay. The cat. brought theé rabbits to the house after all but one of several kittens born to her were killed.
Snake Killing
~ Seventy-eight feet of black snakes were killed in two afternoons by J. E. Barnes railroad section foreman at Bicknell. There were thirteen snakes averaging six feet in length.

Several weeks ago the announcement was made of Jesse B. Eschbach of Fort Wayne formerly of Warsaw as a candidate for governor of Indiana on the Republican ticket subject to the primary election May 8. Mr. Eschbach is ver vprominently known having been very active in the affairs of the state. : : Judge Arthur F. Biggs of the Whit-ley-Noble county circuit courts is endorsing the candidacy of Mr. Eschbach Judge -Biggs and Mr. Eschbach have known each other for the past thirty vears.
The following is a letter sent to Mr. Eschbach by Judge Diggs: ' : I have read the letter written by Judge Royse appearing in a recent issue of the “Times™” with reference to Jesse Eschbach and his candidacy for governor of our state. Women Committee at South Bend
The women's democratic state coinmittee met at South Bend with Mrs. Bernice Pyke member of the national democratic committee from Ohio. George Hershman, Crown Point; Olin Holt, Kokomo and Earl Crawford all candidates for the democratic gubernatorial nomination were guests of the meeting. Picture Show Uperator Fined. Frank Parris Milford - picture theatre operator was fined %10 and costs in the circuit court at Warsaw when he was found guilty of a charge of violating the Sunday law. It was the third time he had been tried. Omnce before he wus found guilty and fined and another time he was -acquitted. :

William Humbarger of Woltf Lake and Margaret Oliver of Elkhart representing their cities in the Lincoln Oratorical contest won first honors in the regional contest held at South Bend Wednesday. The two winners will represent the region at the state contest. . :
Builds New Bungalow
One of the finest spring imrpovements for Ligonier in the building line is the new bungalow of Oscar Sparrow on East Fourth street. The building is 26x28, five rooms with an additional sun parlor. Being a carpenter Mr. Sparrow is doing most of the work on the house himself.
Mrs. Leming Funeral
The remains of Mrs. George Leming of near Topeka were laid to rest Tuesday. She was a most excellent lady with a host of friends. Floyd Leming of near Ligonier and Dart Leming of Goshen along with the bereaved husband survive. e
Perry Cassel Dies at Home
Perry Cassell farmer died at his home in KEtna Friday afternoon of heart trouble. He had been ill since the middle of last February. The deceased was past 75 vears of age. j 4 '
Change in Eating Place
The Ligonier Lions club will mesat Thursday noon and each Thursday thereafter during the summer with Mr. and Mrs. James Leavy. at the Oaks. The club has bheen taking weekly luncheon at Hntel Il.igonier.
