. Yesterday we closed the work for the conference year in this charch. Much of the work for the past year is ' very gratifying. In many ways the’ people of this church have done splendid work. There has been pmgress% along many lines, and we have a right to thank the Heavenly Father for the year's work together. We only wisit that much more might have been donc-f! ‘We have enjoyed the work of the year very much. The associaions with'n:ot‘ only the people of our own church but of the other churches and the com-1 munity as a whole has beén very pleasant. | There will be no Prayver Meeting this coming Thursday evening on account of the revival services at the United Brethern church. We hope that our people may attend these services as-much as « possible. , - The Sunday School and Epworth League will be the only services in this church next Sunday. Our Sunday school attendance yvesterday was very good, but there is still room for many more. : _ ; The Epworth League service was very helpful and was enjoved by all that were. there. - On Easter Sunday the primary department will put on a short program in the morning in connection with the regular service. « The Junior ‘choir will have charge of the music. In the evening the choir will render a musical program. You will find these programs very gocod and if you are not in else where we want you to join us that Day. o The Annual conference program this year is very fine. . You will miss some very good things if you do not get to some part of this cenference. The two outstanding days for the Laymen .will be Thursday and Friday. You will hear on these days such men as Bishop Leete, Dr. John Thompson Pastor of the Methodist Temple Chicago, Dr. Harmon President of McKendree College. Rev. Scott Mcßride General Supt. of the Anti-Saloon League, Bishop . L. Waldorf of Kansas City, Dr. John Timothy Stone of Chicago, Judge H. E: at 4:00 was well attended an dthe topic was well discussed. The special feature was the girls quartette. 5 ~ The evening worship period was lead by the Junior church. And then Rev. FH. W. White preached a real gospel sermon. ' : | Services each evening for the next ‘[t\_vo weeks except Saturdays the public are invited to these services. Everything is working toward a great day on Easter. The doors of the church will be open for admission, baptism will be given to applicants, and the holy communion will commemorate our Lord’s suffering. We will lay a sacrifical offering on the alter that day. The evening service will be the climax of the great day when our splendid choir will render the Easter Cantata, “The Easter Victory” :
. Our Bible school attendance was 15 per cent in advance of last Sunday. This was good. We are glad for the group of young people in the Corinthian as well as the young married people in the Kum-joy-nus class. Remember our Easter Goal. Help us to reach it. : ; The communion "and preaching services were well attended also. « The pastor spoke on “ootprints of Jesus” at this services and ‘“The Essential (Creed of Christianity” at the night service. The introductory program by the ‘“Workers Class” consisted of a Missionary dialogue together with special music by the orchestra. Esther Thompson sapg “From Greenland’s Icy Mountain” as a solo. A good audience was present at all the services. :
Sparta Christian Church Kimmell. A community revival meeting will be held at Sparta Christian church Kimmell March 25 to April 8. While this meeting will be held at "Sparta Christian church it will be for all who will come and take part in the worship. ‘ The me’ssages'in sermon that will be presented each night will be entitled “Two Weeks Near the Cross With Jesus.” You are prayerfully invited to read the 26 and 27 Chapters of St. Matthew’s Gospel. Congregational singing will be a feature of each evening’s worship. “And all that believed were together, and had all things common; Praising God, and having favour® with all the . people. B. church last evening and will preach at 7:30 each evening this week with exception of Saturday. Rev. White is pastor of the Second United Brethren /Church in Elkhart. His pastorate there of ‘a little more than three years has been blessed with steady growth. ~ Last evening Rev. White preached an, eyangelistic sermon from two of the 1900 “Comes” of the Bible. One 'was in connection with Noah’s invitation to come into the Ark and be ngVed. The otHer in this day of grace “the Spirit and the Bride say come” His message present the saving power of the Christ and the lost candition of men who reject the Ghrist.
