_lndiama Demecratie Meoting. More counsel for the democratic party to accept the challenge of issues and not “again fall a victim of its own folly and blither about mon-es-sentials” came from Representative Finis Garrett of Tennesses, speaking at Indianapolis before the Indiana Democratic Editoriali assoeiation. Garrett, the minority leader im the house, iz a oandidate for senatcr from Tennesses. Observing that in 1924 the party divied and fought “with passionate abandcm over imaginary gobling and aoademie abstractions,” Garrett said: o “The favoritism which within seven short years has been wrought into law: the tangled confusion following in the wake of corruption and shame; the foreigr policy, or lack of foreign policy, which has left ws without a friend among the nations of tha world; the domestic distress which all their cunning has mot epabled them to cure because avarice forbade alleviation surely summons us to find a firm and common ground upon which the legions of Demoorscy can stand and give luaty battle as im the victoricus days of yore.”
