Cavin from the hospim:} board of the city commission. . The mayor’s letter blamed Wright and Cavin for the delay in admitting J. E. Brumbaugh to the hospital a week ago after he had takeiy poison in a suicide attempt from which he died, He said that there were other similar cases of their negligence. . No mentibn was made regarding the other three members of the board Wright and Cavin are known to have been signers of the petition to change the form of city government from five to nine commission members. The present comimission. has been bi(terl‘y opposed " to the new form which lcarried at a recent election. ‘ ' , ~ The two ousted board members are identified w%Tith the movement asking a recall election to enforce use of the mnire-commission administration.

Hurt When Lars Crash. M. P. Bleich, of Fort Wayne, is in Lakeside hospital at Kendallville suffering from a fracture of the skull and Earl Crighton is at his home in I«‘Qirt Wayne imrsing paint“ul laceratiéns on his face anr neck sustained Saturday evening about orje mile south of Kendallville when the car in u} which they were riding collided with another car and then ran down ary embankment, striking a post, The other car, which was said to have been driven by Mrs. Ross Louthan of Wolcottville, was not badly damaged and none of the occupants were hurt.

Breaks Down Jail Door. Citiezrs of Milford were thrown into a mild panic when S. T. Clayton, now in Kosciusko county jail, took a fire axe and broke into the Milford jail and released his brother, Don Clayton; who was in_a cell there on a charge of public irtoxication. The jail is a frame building with two cells Bon Clayton was captured shortly after his release. .

Splinter in Finger. - While negotiating a slide at the high school grounds Wednesday afternoon “Buddie”, ‘little son of Mr. and Mrs. ILouis ILevy ran a splinter through the index finger of his left hand. Some one had placed a board against the toboggan which was responsible for the accident. The child was taken to Dr. Martin for treatment.

Mary M. Frick Brings Suit. Mary M. Frick, of Ligonier, administratrix of the estate of Carl L. Frick has brought suit for $2.990 damages against the Pennsylvania railroac, alleging that negligence on the part of the railroad was responsible for the death’ of her husband November 5, 1925, in a crossing accident near Donaldson, ‘

- Avilla Man Fined. Joseph Schmenk, of Avilla, was found guilty of public intoxication by Justice of the Peace George Hufty at Albion, and was fined $40.50, including costs, Saturday morning.

Two Goshen Wiomen Run Down.

-Mrs. Ruby Haley, 37, wife of Rev. R. L. Haley, Evangelical pastor of ‘New Paris, is in Goshen hospital suffering with serious injuries the result of being hit by am auto driven by Rudy Gingreich of Goshen. The driver Of the car was not held responsible as the women attempted to cross a street in the business section between irtersections. :

Mrs. Jesse Ott, 32, is also a patient in the hospital with abroken leg as the result of being hit by an automobile driven by Leonard Juday. As she sat in her front lawr: picking weeds, Juday turméd into the yard when he feared collision with another car. : -

Dies of Complications,

John Reith, 87, a resident of Goshen for 71 vears, died Sunday night at the home of his daughter, Mrs, Ira Bonner, in that city, following an illness of 18 months from complications The deceased was the father of Frank Reith of Ligonier, employed at the Refrigerator factory.

Death ofM rs. Shook.

Mrs, Lydia Shook, age 58 years, wife of George .W. Shook, died suddenly Morgday morning at her home northeast of Kendallville from heart attack. She was found lying on the floor about 11:45 o’clock by Mr. Shook. A physician was summoned, who estimated that death had ensued about an hour before. . :

Cow Testing November 1.

A meeting of the Noble County Cow Testing association, Tuesday evening November 1 at he County Agent’s office has been announced by Carl Hostetter, president of the association. A general invitation is extended to all dairymen. The program will consist of short talks and moving pictures.

~ Settles for Death of Garrett Man. ~ By agreement of parties, a judgment of $225 was entered in the DeKalb circuit court against ‘the Irgdiana Service Corporation in favor of the Garrett State bank, administer of the estate of the late Albert Steckley, of {Garrett, who was killed a year ago when his automobile was struck by an interurban car at a crossing just north of Fort Wayne.

The will of Phillip Kilmer, who died Monday at Wakarusa, was read Wednesday afternoon at the Frank Rich home immediately following the funeral, The estate is thought to be worth about $9,000. Henry Freed of the Exchange State Bank, of Wakarusa was named executor. Most of the estate was left to churehes and orphanages. ,

Paul DeLucenay, of Ligonier, who was injured. in an automobile accident August 21 has ben able to leave the Sacred Heart hospital at Garrett, where he has been confined since the accident, according to the Kendallville News-Sun. DeLucenay, it will be remembered drove his car into the side of the Golden bridge east of Ligonier, plunging dowr; the embankment, The bridge weakened by the crash, collapsed, part of the wreckage striking DeLucenay. : One Killed, One Hurt, J.
