To leave no doubt of the authenticity of the size of the fish. Mr. Eisaman brought it into this office Friday forenoon. The blue gill which was caught while fly casting measuerd 11% inches long and eight inches wide. Mr. Greenawalt's bad luck comes by having ten sheep and two lambs stolen off of the same farm. Last year thieves stole from his farm his whole wool clip valued at $lOO. Teoee i e s . i ~ Drowns in Christiana. . : Joseph Schumaker 17-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Schumaker, Mishawaka was drowned -at Christian lake Sunday afternoon. The drowning took place near the diving pier at the Tavern beach. The exact cause of the death had not been determined Sunday night; but witnesses believe that the boy way seized with cramp. Another theory advanced is that he swam out farthey than he intended and became tireq before he was able to regain shallow water. He is said to have been 2a poor swimmer.

The corn borer has been discovered in four new townships in Noble @éounty by government scouts it was announced from the office of County Agent J. B. Cunningham at Albion, The borers from one third to one-half developed after being disovered by the government scouts were definitely identified by the federal entomologist.

Places where the born borers were discovered include the Sophia Bauman farm Jefferson township, Charles, Weeks, tenant; John Bowman farm, Allen township; J. C. Roscoe farm, York - township, Ebony Fair tenant; and the John Gonser farm Elkhart township, Roy Gonser tenant.

Tiny Tot Run Over By Train.

Rosie Thomas 10-months-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Thomas of near New Haven was run over by a Nickle Plate train and lives to tell the story. The remarkable thing of it is that not a drop of blood was shed and not a bone broken. The child was playing with several children and wandered onto the tracks: The pilot of the engine struck the child and knocked her down. Apparently stunned by the blow the .child remained perfectly still until the train passed by. . i

Thieves Busy at. South Bend.

A jewel case containing precious stones valued at $2;500 was stolen from the home of Charles Oberlin at South Bend Thursday night. They entereq the home while Mrs. Oberlin was sprinkling her front lawn and escaped, unnoticed. - g ~ _Thieves also entered the office of the International Harvester Co. and secured $3O; the office of the South Bend Roofing Co., where $152 was taken and acigar store where $4O was stolen,
