The Poison Ivy Pest.
“Poicon Ivy the bugaboo of many outdooer Hoosier enthusiasts needlessIy claims hundreds of victims this time cf year” according to thg bullstin issued today by. the publicity bureau of the Indiana State Medical association. - L “This plant from which so many suffer is easily distinguishable by its three divided leaves’” continues the bulletin, “Although poison ivy poison oak, poison sumack abound in this state poison ivy is the plant most frequently encountered by the unsuspecting city visitor to the country in, spite of the fact that it may be so easily recognized. ‘ . Medical science has found a preventative for poison ivy which may be helpful to sufferers‘from this affection. The preventative treatment consists of a course of medication usually completed in three weeks.” The medicine is a tincture of the offending soison (Rhustoxicondendron) It should be given only under a physician’s supervision. = This treatment sometimes has been found a help to those who have to work near poison ivy and is an absolute preventative in most cases.”’ g :

The Noble county board of review which -will remain in session for 30 days convened’ ‘Monday morning at the court house. ~ The board this year will include Assessor Bouse chairman; Auditor Edwin Smith, Treasurer Herbert Cockley W. H. Bender of Ligonier and Wil{iis Barhan Allen towll,§hip._ The latter two were appointed xi"‘hgmbers of the board by Judge Biggs. .
Opens Next Thursday.
The fishing season opens one week from today Thursday June 16. Ligonier anglers' are. preparing for the fray. Harry Gilbert has served notice that he wil ltake a vacation the last three days of next week. Gilbert Darnell and Max Mentzer will open the season in a Northermn Michigan lake.
C. W. Johnson 80, Dies. C. 'W. Johnson about 80 passed away at his home in Miford on . Sunday morning. The deceased had lived in Milford almost 50 years and is survived by his' wife and two daughters. Miss Ethel Johmson of Chicago and Mrs. Emory Kindig of Milford. ;
Dies in Marion.
George M. Kleder former well known Milford resident and long a cottager at Wawasee died Sunday at his home in Marion according to word received by Wm. W. Fobes. He had been in poor health for several years,

Dweliing Destroyed on Farm.
The six-room two story dwelling onl the Jasper Noble farm dne mile east of Ormas and occupied by the Lee Hill famiiy was burned to the ground Letween4 and 5 o’clock Monday afternoon. No one was at home at the time, ‘Mrs. Hill having left at three o”clock to visit her parents Mr. ani Ars. Irvin Haney at Merriam. . Mr. Noble was hauling gravel on the road past his farm and when he came within sight of his home he discovered the roof was ablaze. Neighbors responded to a general alarm, but the dwelling was plainly doomed. Nothing was saved from the secon dstory and but little from the first flooor. -
Eggs Bring Halt to a Dance
A barrage of rotten eggs hurled supposedly "Ly, actors in.. the.. Halt-Orr feud temrorarily halted a dance at “Pike’s FPeak” dance hall near Lorraine. The odoriferous missiles cama hurtling tarough the air and fell with in the hlill or crashed against the sides of the building precipitating a general flight to cover. Charles Halt and Frank Orr both of whom claim possession of the dance hall have been holding dances at each end of the hall with separate orchestra. '
«Tourist’s Autemobile Burns.
Two motorists enroute from New York city to Chicago and traveling in a Jordan touring car were compelled to complete their trip by railroad trdvel Monday afternoon when their car was destroyed by fire on the To-ledo-Chicago pike east of Kendallvilie The motorists stated that rags placed around the heater caught fire and not being supplied with a fire extinguishcr they were unable to check the flames.
LaCrange Land Goes Low.
The sale at auction of a 143 acre farm five miles out of LaGrange Tuesday brought the low sum of $27.5Q per acre. The property was sold to satisfy a mortgage of $2,000 held hy the Lincoln Life Insurance company of Fort Wayne: According_t'othé Judgment of James A. Taylor of this city who atterded the sale the land brought only half of its value. There is a good dwelling house on the place. . Tl e Myers-Hall.
® Wayne Myers son of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Myers and Na Dien B. Hall daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John G. Hall of Millersburg were married by Rev. Turner in the Methodist church June 4, at Hamilton. They were accompanied by Mrs. Vern Vance and daughter Pauline They spent the week end at the Vance cottage at Hamilton Lake. They ‘will be at home in Millersburg.
Hal Blue Arrives.
Hal Blue and family arrived Wednesday by automobile from Greely Colorado where he is superintendent of schools. Mr. Blue is a product of Benton township' and will vigit the Ben and Lon Blue families. It is ununderstood he will become an instructor in the summer school at Chicaga university during his vacation.
Decth of Mr. Steinbarger.
‘Milton L. Steinbarger aged 64 years lifclong resident of Noble county died Monday morning at'his home six mileg west of Kendallville death resulting from complications with which he had been bediast and seriously ill the last two weeks. He had been ailing and in gradually failing health the past six years. : T
Searching or Demented Man.
Sheriff Singleton and several residents of the county were out Tuesda¥y searching for the aged Nathan B. Hathaway who wandered from his home near Diamond lake in a demented condition. It was feared that he had drowned himself. :
Accidentally Shoots Wife. 4
William Angel accidentally shot his wife at their farm near North Webster while cleaning a shotgun. The charge struck her in the back. She was rushed to a hospital where physicians said the injury was serious.

Gym Contract Let.
The contract fo rthe New Paris high school gymnasium to be built in connectioh with the new high school was awarded Saturday by the Jackson township advisory board and Trusteg Francis Mishler to Loucks & Frantz, of North Manchester for $17,050, Loucks & Frantz also have the contract to build the high school which is now in the course of contruction, An issue of $25,000 in bonds for the building of the gymnasium was hold Saturday for a premium of $1,213. A part of the proceeds of this issue is to be used in completing the high school building. :
Scholl; Changes Plea to Guilty
Walter Scholl accused of the murder of his two children in the Porter eir; cuit- court changed his plea of “not guilty” to guilty. ‘Sentence was delayed. until Scholl’s attornd¥s introduced evidence to mitigate the punishment. That evidence will be pmg-\ sented June 8. _ - The punishment for first degree murder with which Scholl is chargsd may be life imprisonfnent or deati.
Jury Favors Defendant.
In the $lO,OOO damage suit of Ernest Humes bridge construction worker against the Nickel Plate railroad, Judge L. W. Royse at Warsaw found for the defendant stating that no evidence of negligence had been found. Humes alleged that his leg was broken when another employe threw a bolt around which was coiled a small garter snake. .
To Incorporate.
The Noble county farm bureau is to be incorporated under the Indiana statel aw which governs the marketing of farm products through co-op-eration according to action taken Friday evening at a meeting of the directors of the farm bureaun at Albion.

Elkhart police are searching for a young ‘and poorly dressed man who was seen-sloitering about the Elkhart interurban station shortly before Station - Agent C. I. Golder discovered $55.50 had been taken from the cash drawer. . '
Mother and Babe Die.
Mrs. Ver! Dyvrd and babe so frightfully burned in their home by the explosion of a kerosene can near Kimmell Monday morning died that evening in the Methodist hospital at Fort ‘Wayne. :
