Heavy Fire Loss. : The two- story cement block building at Garrett owned by Jay Brechbill of Kendallville was destroyed by fire early Tuesday morning with a loss estimated at $16;000. : The building was occupied by J. B. Wysong & Son, Star and Durant dealers, and by the Automotive Electric Service, Clifford Aikens manager. The property destroyed incluyded 12 automobiles nine of which were used cars owned by the proprietors of.the garage. : N , Condition is Serious Lester Bordner of Kimmell while in the city Wednesday says reports from Garrett hospital where he has been confined singe’ his aytomobile was struck by a train are to the effect that the condition of Camuel Paulus is very grave. The injured man has a shattered leg, a bad wound on the head and many bruises. ¥t is feared he cannot recover. The Dodge car in which Paulus. was riding was struck by a B. & 0. fast train at Kimmell & week ago yesterday.

b Visit Goshen. : ' Walter Kitson of Ligonier accompanied by Frances and Marie Snyder called on friends in Goshen on Saturday eveming. Mr. Kitson met his cousin from Chicago, who accompanied the party home where Mr. Kitson will spend the week end with relatives and friends before returning to his home in Chicago.—Goshen News . Times, Tuesday. : Traffic Resumed. - By’ the middle of next week the concrete pavement between Kimmell and Wolf Lake will be completed. The stretch to be paved is now only 3,000 feet. A short detour of two miles south of Kimmell is now all that is required to travel from Ligonier to Fort Wayne on concrete. Robbert at Benton. > Wabash railroad officials notified the Ligonier police Sunday night of a robbery at a railway inspepctor’s shanty at Benton early Sunday morning. The thieves took 26 brass bearings of the type used on railway cars. :
