Church Notes. _ A large and enthusiastic audience was on hand last evening at the children’s day exercises and all 'werel loud in their praise of the program and the splendid way in which it was rendered. . : Next Sunday evening the Delegates to the Branch C. E. Convention that just closed will give their reports, come and hear the delegates tell of the largest and best branch C. E. convention we have ever held. The college Male Quartette on last Friday evening gave their musical program to a very fine audience and their efforts were well received. Clifford Parker has signed up and will attend Indiana Central College this fall. ; The interior of the parsonage is being nicely decorated. Price Chiddister is doing the work. - F'. B. Parker, Pastor
Inlinred in Accident./
Mrs. E. J. Grady sustained a cut on her forehead and bruises Friday evening when the car in which she was riding driven by Mr. Grady collided with the abutment of the concrete bridge on the state highway south of Rome City. Mr. and Mrs. Grady were enroute to Rome City and the accident occurred when the driver was ‘blinded by the glaring lights :4 an approaching machine. The Grddy machine was badly damaged. Mr. Grady said that the driver .of the other machine an Ohio motorist remarked, “I never dim my lights for anyone.” The motorist left the scene quickly. However, Mr. Grady succeeded in securing his auto license number Mrs. Grady sufffered her injuries when she was thrown against the windshield.
Arm Crushed Off,
‘Ollie Dooley 456 employee of -the Brown & Rosenogle company of Indianapolis which is doing the gravel dipping screening and washing for the Tri-Lake Construction Co., of Columbia City on the paving job on state road 11 between Huntington and Mt, Etna received injuries to his left arm, while working at the top of the derrick, Thursday morning which later resulted in the amputation of the arm, at the Huntington hospital. ~ Dooley’s hand became caught in the machinery the arm being drawn into the apparatus and crushed to the shoulder. The operator of the derrick hearing Dooley’s, cries reversed the engine and Dooley worked himself loose and made his way unaided down a 30-foot ladder to the ground.

Ivan Nicodemus _barber at Albion pled guilty to public intoxication and was fined $lO and costs this week. He faces a charge of transportation of liguor. His car was found May 30th on the highway containing four quarts of liquor. Nicodemus left the car but was later arrested at Elkhart. =
_The garage robbed at Wolf Lake the other night is on the Lincoln highway and is owned by Howard Wood. Mr. Wood stated that the thief or thieves entered his garage through the front door after prying off the lock and that they took twenty-some U. S. or Goodyear ballon tires. 40 some inner tubes, and automobiles accessories. He. estimates his loss at between s4so° and Sfio and carried no insurance. He said that the men left nothing by which they could be traced. The only mark being one on the door, -
