< Rose Reunion.
Last- Sunday the Rose reunin gathered at the home of Will Ridenbaugh in Brimfield. At an early hour the guests began to gather and by noon there were about 125. Four auto loads from Bluffton, two fron Poneo, one from Hartford City one from Niles Michigan and the home folks of Noble county. It is useless to say all was hungry at the noon ,hour and made the good things disappear that were spread before them. After dinner a short progam was given consisting of songs reading speeches and ete, There was election of officers for the the coming year. Mrs.' Dora Rose President and Mrs. Will Butz secretary and treasurer. The reunion will meet next year on the same date at the home of John Shell near Ligonier.
Seeks Arrest of Own Son.
John Workman town marshall of Sidney in Kosciusko county is seeking the arrest of his own son, Ernest Work man for the theft of tires and tubes from the Grisso garage at Sidney. Young Workman was employed at the Western Rubber plant in Goshen and the sheriff’s office was asked to take him- into custody but it was found that he had left for Kansas.
Marshalk¥ Workman in investigating the theft, found evidence that his own son had committed the crime and notified Sheriff Malony of Warsaw.
Foodless Hiker Quits
George Hasler Johnston who started to walk from Chicago to New York without food abandoned his attempt Monday at Summit the highest point in the Allegheny mountains. He had covered more than half of the distance and set what is declared to be a world’s record for walking without, food. The trip was abandoned when Johnston’s condition became such that he could not continue. ‘5
Lifts Thirty Fowls.
No clue has been found to the thieves who last Saturday night entered the poultry house of Mrs. J. F. Faux on the Tourists Rest Farm west, of Kendallville and carried away thirty of her purebred White Wyandotte hens. The thieves left but four hens .and three roosters of the fing flock owned by Mrs. Faux. The theft was not discovered until Sunday evening. : %
Dies of Heart Attack.
’ ‘Charles Bowman 59 prominent resident of Albion died suddenly Monday ‘while assisting in the erection of some farm machinery in the Roy K, Riddle implement shed. Mr. Bowman was assisting Mr. Riddle and some other employees in moving a heavy casting when he suffered the fatal attack.

At Fort Wayen Next Year. At the state meeting of the Christian Endeavor societies held at Hammond it was decided that the 1927 meeting of the Indiana organization shall be held in Fort Wayne. Warsaw was an [active candidate for the 1927 meeting and several sessions of the executive board were necessary before the decision as to where the meeting next year will be held could be made.
Opposes Sunday Fair.
The Indiana Council of Religious Education in its sixty-second annual conveqntion at Richmond went on record in opposition to opening of the state fair on /Sunday. A resolution was -adopted by the -convention protesting against plans of the state board of agriculture to start the exhibition on Sunday. ; o
Officers Find Booze.
Night , Officer George Rapp and Town Marshall Charles Harter of Churubusco, armed with a search warrant Sunday morning made a raid on the home of James Brubaker west of Churubusco. The officers found seven quarts of “white mule,” but they were not able to find a still. ;
Drowns in Gravel Pit.
Isaac Hershberger 21 Sugar Creek 0., was drowned in a gravel pit near Nappanee while swimming. The victim had lived with his sister near there since Tast August.
