Give Report of Reunions. : The Banner would appreciate reports of family reunions that are held this summer. In most instances the gecretary or some other member of the family can prepare a report and either mail or bring it to this office. 1t is requested that the reports should not be telephoned in, as it is next to impossible to take a long list of names over the telephone and get them correct. ;
, . This paper will be glad to give space to reunions, but in case the notices are received in the afternoon it is not likely that they will be used until the next issue. The report should contain the program the officers and the place of meeting next year, and any other interesting factsg concerning the reunion.
New York Central Pioneer Picnic Four special trains and extra coaches on nearly all the regular trains will carry New York Central veterans and their families te Cedar Point near Sandusky Ohio on Saturday June 26 for the 17thy Annual Reunion of the Lake Shore Pioneer chapter. The committee expects aboui 800 persons to go from Elkhart. Requirements for membership in the Pioneer’s organization have been lowered from 20 years of service to 15. “Hit by Lightning.
Wayne Walker of South Bend son of Mr. and Mrs, L. D*Walker of Argos, was struck by lightning at 4:30 o’clock Sunday afternoon while attending the birthday celebration of John Davis at the Davis farm home south of Argos, , - Walker was standing in the house ’several feet from the telephone holding a two year old baby in his arms when the aceident occurred. - The electrical bolt gtruck the telephone line some distance from the house and followed the line to the house. Then it jumped from the telephone the few feet to Walker. ¥
Walker let the baby fall to the floor and crumpled up as though dead. If was feared for a time that he had been seriously if not fatally injured and a doctor was immediately summoned from Argos. . However after several minutes the victim appeared to be recovering from the stroke and in about a half hour he was able to be up again.
Gets Harsh Punishment.
Fred McCartney appeared in the Kendallville ¢ity court Monday morning and after entering a plea of guilty. to operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated was assessed a “fine of $2O and costs amounting to $6O had his auto license rTevoked for one year, and was given a 90 days’ sentence af the penal farm. The latter penalty was suspended by Mayor Auman. McCartney was arrested Saturday night on South Main street after he had struck and slightly damaged two automobiles and drove his car into a boulevard ligkting post.
Death of Young Lady.
Miss Ethel Shroyer aged 23 years daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Al Shroyer and popular young lady of Rome City died Tuesday at her home death resulting from tuberculosis and following an illness of three months. Shaq was employed in Chicago when she was taken ill three months ago and was admitted to a sanitarium in that city for treatment. Two weeks ago she was brought to her home.
Point Way to Waco.
A new route from Syracuse to thd Waco pavilion at Wawasee lake to avoid the road now torn up in preparation of paving will be markeqd each night hereafter by green lanterng it was announced by Ross Franklin, The route leads west and then south out of Syracuse over the paved road, and green lanterns will be hung along the route to point out the way.
Foodless Hiker in Pennsy.
Satisfying his hunger by drinking a gallon of water George Hasler Johnson foodless hiker left Beaver Falls, Pa., Tuesday for Pittsburg. Johnson is walking from Chicago to New York and has covered 500 miles of the trip. without eating. @ The hunger hiker has lost 30 pounds.
Gives $lO,OOO To Riley Hospital.
Funds of the Riley Memorial hospital for crippled children were increased today by a gift of $lO,OOO from Mrs. Howard Spaulding Jr., of Chicago.
Mrs. Spaulding is owner of the Has-, kell-Barker freight Car Company at Michigan City. ;
Sentenced to Prison, _ Hubert Clifford 21 and Edward Lovell 22 both of Elkhart pleaded guilty in the superior court to petit larceny and were sentenced to the state reformatory from omne to eight years. They had stripped the itires from a car owned by Jesse A. Bechtel.

It is part of my executive duty to inform you that at our last meeting of the directors of the Wawasee Mutual Fishing Association that you have the honor of being re-elected president of this august association. Furthermore Mr. Will Hire a friend of ours living somewhere west of your residende was re-elected vice president, with your humble servant Deacon James F. the secretary and treasurer of the association. Special emphasis was placed upon the treasurership of the association. However the dues of the association will remain the same as last year, with the exception that a special tax may be placed upon the membership to defray certain current expenses of the secretary. This item, as I remember it was-laid on the table until next meeting when a fuller attendance of the membership wil ltake up this matter fof final decision. It was moved and carried that it.

Leg Broken in Auto Crash Mrs. Mary Teeters 76 of LaGrange is in a hospital at Auburn with a fractured knee as the result of an accident at the intersection of the AuburnAshley road and the Toledo-Chicago pike north of Auburn. Mr. and Mrs, Ray Noel and and Loa Graham three other passengers were cut by glass, The auto party was from LaGrange and was enroute to Bryan, 0., to attend a birthday celebration when another machine from the south crashed into their car.
