Indiana’s Biggest Tree.
The biggest tree in the state of Indiana, is located on the' Berkey farm just north of Warsaw. This tree is a burr oak 32 feet in circumference at the base and nine feet in diameter. The lowest limb is t‘it‘ty:—t‘eet from the ground.r Recently .a limb was cut from the tree which measured two feet through. Each year hundreds of people visit this tree and there is a feeding among mafly that the tree should be properly protected. During the. first three months of 1926 five hundred and sixteen prisoners were placed.in the Allen eounty iail, aceording: to. the report of Sheriff Henry Marlin. Of these 34 were incarcerated on various liquor charges the most of which were for public intoxication. : ;

Damage of About $3OO
A Reo truck owned by Nicholas Fish a Wakarusa merchant was damaged to the extent of $3OO when it caught fire from defective wiring. M. Fish’ was oun his way to South Bend when the car caught fire. The car and most of the wood part of the truck was burned.
Arrested For Forgery.
Kenuneth Vickers 19 who lives near Klkhart was arrested on a Qlarg‘e of attempting to cash a check for $62.74 to which had been forged the signature of James Sl.‘o(-kbergw. The bank clerk who was. asked to - cash the clhieck recognized the forgery.

Waldo Baker formerly of Ligonier was awarded the attendance prize of $25 by Goshen Klks which had accumulated during the last five weeks at last night's meeting of the Elks, He wus present to receive the money,

Failing to hear the warning cries.of a crossing watchman Ollie Melton 21 walked in front of a Michigan Central train at East Gary. He was killed instantly.
Patient Improves.
The condition of the 14-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Green of Millersburg is slightly improved after -an attack of appendicitis.
