Shriners to Fort Wayne
Ligonier Shriners. are anticipating a lively event: at T'F‘(ort Wayne Friday, April 30, the occasion of the grand annual spring ceremonial of Mizpah temple Nobles of the Mystic Shrine. The first ceremonial was held in the magnificient new tmeple last October and this spring's event promises to eclipse it in splendol and interest according to reports received by local Ghrlllersy 0. .. L e Lah Elaborate plams are going forward to confer the picturesque Shrine degrees upon a large class of novices. Registration begins at 9:00 a. m. and the ceremonial is scheduled for 4 p m. ‘with a banquet at 8:30.
Another Big One
Foster’s Community Sale Thursday was another big one in point of numbers and receipts. The sale aggregated $8,250.23. Mr. Foster. says he will hold but two miore sales and may suspend them for a year. He feels that Ligonier merchants do not appreciate the value of these bi-monthly sales to the town and fail to give him their support. , : As a climax to his efforts Mr. Foster is thinking of putting on his last sale ‘with a big celebration, holding it in the evening. He would secure a band for concerts and an orchestra to provide music for an old fashioned dance on the pavement in front of his taxi barn. = =
Cromwell Citizens Get Alr Mail.
Cromwell has the distinction of receiving mail by air. Fred N. Hunt received a letter last week from his brother at Los Vegas New Mexico,.and Mrs. EHa Clayton received one from her son at Springfield Illinois. Theq letters came through to Chicago by air and were brought to Cromwell by train.—Cromwell Advance. '

Long Grows Cheerful.
George Long whose, left leg was amputated in Goshen hospital just -above the knee on account of cancer, has grown very cheerful and is rapidly recovering. Mrs. Long his wife also has a cancer but refuses all treatment and it is feared t@ne is little hope for her. e :
Task is Big One.
- Lon MgcNutt will go to Wawaseg sometime this week to begin mason work on the new hotel. The structure will-be three stories in height exclusive of ‘the basement will be constructed of tile with a stucco finish. The building will be fire proof. |
Death -of 'old Veteran.
‘lsaac Redenbo aged 83 years and a veteran of the civil war died of the infirmities of age at his home in Wolf Lake. He is survived by his widow and three children. The funeral was condueted by Rev. Page Sunday with burial in. Wolf Lake cemetery.
Car Still Unclaimed.
The Maxwell sedan found parked on the street under suspicious condition, is still held by Police Chief Wolf pending word from the secretary of state. After the owner is determined he will ‘be notified. The thief has made good his escape. , ‘

, Miton Loeser told the Ligonier fLions club at a meeting Thursday noon -something of his experience in the World war while serving with the U. S. army on the other side of the ocean. His recount was most interesting. ;

Fred D. Butz of Kendallville was in Ligonier Friday-breaking new ground in his ‘political field. . Mr. -Butz is a brother of William and Uric Butz and a democratic candidate for county auditor. ; :

~ The list of candidates for office in Kosciusko county is the largest in history. ° While the list will include the state ticket names which will probably ‘bring the total up to around 500 there will be 288 names of Re‘publicans and 96 nathes of Democrats. The Republiecan list contains 8 for recorder, 7 for sheriff, 6 for assessor, 4 for auditor, 4 for treasurer and 2 for prosecutor and 5 for short term senatorship. Democrats have 6 candidates for senator, 5 for sheriff and 2 each for prasecuting attorney assessor and clerk. i
The Northeastern Academy of Medicine met in Garrett Thursday night and the main speaker was Dr. Fred Douglas a noted physician from Toledo. Drs. Black and Lane were present from this city and on their invitation the next meeting will be held in Ligonier in the near future. Dr, Black is president of the organization which has about 75 members, The district is - composed of four counties DeKalb, Steuben, LaGrange and Noble. : ‘
Donald LeCount and Miss Jane Burkhart motored to Cassapolis, Mich. Saturday April 17 where they were quietly married Miss Burkhart is a member of the Fireshman class of the Ligonier High School and a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H. V. Burkhart. Mr. LeCount is employed in the Cabinet room of the Blitz factory. The young couple are well and favorably known in the city and are receiving the coigratulations of their many friends,
County Assessor Geo. S. Bocuse’s Dodge car collided with the Ford car driven by Mr. Rumpler accompanied by his wife of Kendallville at the end of the five mile pavement east of Albion on Monday afternoon. - Both cars were damaged considerably. Mrs. Rumpler received slight injuries, while Mr. Bouse is suffering from a strained back.—Albion Democrat. . ; :
