Word reached Ligonier in a letter to Greeley Zimmerman that Mr. and Mrs. Frank W. Zimmerman had arrived in Los Angeles California from a visit to Honolula. A Honolula newspaper was received which is 100 years old. . : 5

Death of Mrs. Cole.

Mrs. Lauren Cole died Tuesday night of sleeping sickness at the home of her father Jerome Kilgore -near Kimmell. 'Mr. Cole passed away some months ago. . \ -

In spite of bad ‘Weather -and roads that were -almost impassable “all but two township organizations were rebresented at the first Clothing Project Leader’s Conference last Thursday in Albion. Miss Meta Martin from Purdue who had charge of the conference presented her work in a very pleasing and thorough manner. She discussed belts ties hats furs hem lines and colors. She also gave an interesting demonstratfon on Figure Study. Her work will be reproduced by the leaders at the township meetings in April. |

Officers for the County project werd elected as follows: Mrs. Edna Penn President; Miss Marie More Secretary The date for the next county meeting was set. for May 18th. A pot luck lunch will be served at that time.

Train Strikes Trueck

. A truck loaded with household goods was struck at the Orion crossing of the Pennsylvania railroad halfway between Warsaw and Atwood Monday forenoon by an eastbound express train. ' The truck had almost cleared the track when the locomo-“ tive reached the crossing and a corner of the truck body was cut off squarely a part of the furniture being spilled and damaged. The driver a Mr., Evans who was driving with his little boy in the seate beside him, escaped without injury. o

School Revenue.

The school enumeration is,taken to determine the amount of funds the school city shall receive from the state For every person of school age the city receives $5.10 from the state. It is important that all persons of school age be enumerated (between the ages of 6 and 21 years) and parents are urged to ico-operate in the enumeration. There'is no obligation on the part of any family and the larger-the number of persons of school age the more funds there will be available or school purposes. :

The motion for a new trial was filed by Lester Baker of Noble coun-ty-and which was heard by Judge Biggs of the Noble circuit court Thurs day was overruled by the court. ‘ Baker was found guilty of petit larceny because wof steéaling some chickens and Judge Biggs immediately imposed sentence upon him giving a term of from 1 to 8 years in the state prison at Michigan City :

Two Youtgs Sentenced.

Two Wakarusa young men who gave their names as Maynard Hunsberger 19 and Gail Hartzler 23 both Wakarusa were sentenced to the state penal farnf for sfx months and fined $2OO each by Judge James S. Drake in the Elkhart circuit court when they pleaded guilty to a charge of illegal possessign of intoxicating liquor. T

Robbers Gets $550.

. Two bandits who held up the Chapin Park grocery store at South Bend Saturtlay evening secured almost $550 in cash. The proprietor and two clerks were in -the store at the time and when one of the men‘was slow in obeying the command to:lie on the fldor: one of the robbers fired a shot at him.:

- ’Miss ‘Kafitérine Barnett 16 years old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. O. D. Barnett of Terfe Haute was probably fatally injured at.5:25 o’clock Tuesday morning when-an auntomobile in which she was riding was struck by a Big Four passenger train at the Middlebury street crossing in Elkhart. !
