COUNTY AGENT’S NOTES The community seed corn tester in the Court House at Albion will start next week. Mr. Guy Hardenbroook who has had charge of the work fqu the past five years will do the testvingw again this year. ; A tractor school will be held at the Harvey Hoak Farm two miles South of Ligonier March second and third. ‘The work will be under the supervision of a specialist from Purdue. l More boys and girls have applied for membership in the Shorthorn Calf Club this year than ever before. They will get their calves at Albion Saturday March 6th. Enrollment in th¥ club is now closed. The Cow Testing Association will} sponsor a one day feeding school in Albion the first or second week in March. Every farmer who milks cows should plan to attend. : A successful series of twelve townhip meetings has just been completed. The approximate average atten‘dance was 70. Recalls Hearing Lincoln Speak Lincoln’s birthday brings back memories of a great and gaunt and homely man to John B. Stoll of ‘South Bend founder of the Banner. Mr. Stoll so far as known is the only man now living in northern Indiana who heard him gpeak. . Lo = Mr. Stoll heard him speak from the balcony of the Jones hotel in Harrisburgh, Pa., while Lincoln was enroute ‘to Washington for his first inauguration as president in 1861.
