- . Vigilants- Arve Needed, - - One day last week Mrs. Mattie Sheadel had a local butcher to kill two hogs for her.. The meat was delivered late in the afternoon and placed in an out building until a neighbor could come over and salt it after supper. During the early evening Mrs. Sheadel had occasion to go to ribs on the floor thinking it strange, ribs on the fllor thinking it strange, she investigated and found someone had an especial liking for - side meat taking all but one strip, besides the back bones and tenderloin, She thought the marauders may have been in the building at the time. It begins to look like a vigilance committee will have to get busy when any one will steal from a widow. (o .Not long since Mr. Frank Harrold butchered a hog and made the saus< age leaving it in a cool room expectin to feast on pancakes, maple syrup and sausage next morning But alas some one beat him to it as the hog and all the trinxlilings disappeared-J during the night.—Churubusco Truth,

Raymond and Wilber bought coupes the following year and in 1924 when- Elmer became of age he followed the example of his brothers. Recently Mr. Stoltz increased the family’s automobileifleet to five when he bouight the truck which is used to haul form produce.. £ = : “The automotive equipment of the Stoltz family occupies two garages hehind their farm house.” ; Farm Heme Desiroyed The two story four room frame farm house on the James Bonebrake farm about two miles north and a mile east of South Whitley was destroyed Friday morning by fire which is believed to have been caused by sparks alighting on a shingle roof. The fire was discovered by members of the household who were at home when it broke out. The flames had too big a start to save the house, but practically all the furniture was carried out and most of the contents of the building were saved. S

While walking on Lincoln Way West Tuesday she fell on the icy walk -in front of the Frank (Cain home and now Mr. Hicks is performing-the household work.
