It is a vletal violin made from an old stove pipe and various other odds and -ends. It has a bone bridge, steel strings and a bow formed from the cane of an old chair seat. Lee Poyser of Kimmell was here Saturday. - ' : Charlie Van is minus a radio set, all because a station broadcast an imitation of a dog and cat fight. His dog was sleeping near the radio when he was awakened by the barking of dogs and meowing of cats. He decid{ed the big fight was in the loud |speaker. With one leap he landed on the table and in a short time demolish ed the loud speaker. He was busy on the rest of the set when Charlie interferred. ; : :

Johnson owner of the ‘Buttermilk point hotel and annex, was giveny judgments on notes against Charles E. Hess in the Kosciusko circuit court in sums of $639.64, $377 and $283.89 each. The three judgments were on notes given to Johnson by Hess in payment for rent. Hess leased the hostelry but failed to meet the notes -alleged Johnson.—Syracuse Journal. : : Filling Station Held Up. B. E. Rink who operates a garage and filling station on' South Main street in Elkhart was held up and robbed of $4O by two well dressed men who drove up to the station 'in a Chevrolet touring car. The men bought gasoline and then one of them drew a revolver and held up Rink who was alone at the time.
Arthur Sudlow Dead. It is not generally known here where he had many acquaintances that Arthur Sudlow who for a number of years was a cottager at Wawasee died on Long Island Sound and was buried at Indianapolis. ' - | -~ Bread Truck Damaged. - A truck owned by the Hossick Bread Co. ,of Elkhart was struck by a Ford car on the Lincoln highway west of Ligonier Thursday morning and both cars were badly damaged, but no one was injured. : Roscoe Much Improved. George V. Roscoe leader of the Ligonier City Band who had been quite ill at his home in Goshen is much improved and has gone to Warsaw on a visit, :
