Obituary. : LuElla Hays daughter of 'W. D. and Harriet E. Hays was bern Aug. 17 1858 in Perry township Noble county Indiana passed away Nov. 6 1925. She was united in marriage to Wm. A. Cochran Maréh 7 1878 to them were born three children Edith wife of Charles R. Stage, C. Deane and Jessie F. wife of Geo. Goshorn. There remains to morn her departure the husband Wm. A. Cochran Edith C Stage and husband, C. Deane Cochran and wife, Jessie F. Goshorn and husband five grandchildren, Glenn F. and Eleanore LuElla Stage, William Deane and Helen Louise Cochran, Carroll Hays Goshorn and one sister Hattie B. Green, also many other relatives and friends. G Her parents three brothers and one sister preceded her to the better land She spent her entire home life in Perry township and united with the United Brethren church in the year| 1875. - _ j

Intoxicated from eating fermented grapes a cow on the Crosley farm attacked a horse Saturday. Mr. Crosley saw the cow hook the horse with its horns. The animal then ran into a barn, wrecking several stalle and tore down a hundred yards of wire fence before it staggered into a nearby marsh. 5

Death of Skunk Woman. ; “Crissy” the Howe skunk woman is dead. j “Crissy’ as she is known to thousands within a radius of many miles and who as a ‘t‘own character” has served as the attraction for throngs of curious persons was laid at rest Monday afternoon. Many of the residents of Howe attended the funeral services which were held from the late home of this eccentric old woman. Those who attended the services were not of the curious crowds but those to whom ‘Crissy” has been known since her girlhood days. sShe died in her new cottage home. Christmas Club Distribution. Early in December the Ligonier banks will distribute their Christmas saving club funds among the members which will amount to thousands of dollars. The success of the 'saving club this year will inspire many others to join in this, saving plan for next year. { : - New Hotel Planned. - M. Charles Arnold of Goshen was fined $lOO and sentenced tc serve 60 days at the penal farm and Walter Hisey and Harry Knapp of Goshen were placed under $l,OOO bond eadh by Mayor Rimpler in city court there Monday morning as the result of a raid by county and city officerss Saturday night. Plans for state wide observance of this week are being formed by the Agricultural Exténmsion Department of Purdue University and all the agricultural forces of the state are being enlisted in this first big drive ever made to have the Indiana farmer get a closeup view of his own busines with the idea of putting it on a more profitable basis. Farmers will be urged to make a detailed list some time during that week of their livestock feed, supplies, machinery and other farm property and to value each item.
