- Amateur Burglars Work. . ' After gaining entrance through a rear window thieves ‘brokg the combination off the safte at the Adams Sales Co., garage at Kendallville and ‘then made their escape unmolested. They; obtained no loot . The rear window was pried open and after gaining entrance it is presumed the thieves went direct to the office in cezvch of money. The cash register contzined no money but was broken by the thieves in the attempt to open it. The combination of the safe was knocked off but the door was not opened. Because of the crude manner in which the thieves worked oificials are led to suspect local talent or amateurs in the profession of burglary. The Adams Sales Co, garage has been entered several times by thieves during thep ast few years.

Hog Cholera in Kosciusko,

Several cases of hog cholera have been located in Kosciusko county in the last few weeks. Several in the territory lying between Milford and Syracuse and a few in the vicinity of Warsaw have been reported. These cases have been in charge of veterinarians and no serious outhreak is expected. ; .

Elevator Destroyed.

Fire Monday night destroyved a large grain elevator belonging to the Farmers’ Grain and Merchantile company and situated along the Big Four railroad at Milford Junction. There was considerable’ grain stored in the building and it is estimated the’ loss will be approximately $15,000. There is some insurance. :

Visit Daughters.

Attorney and Mrs. W. H. Wigton left Sunday in their car for Indianapolsi to visit their daughter Mrs. John I. Hurst and son John William. From t’herq they drove to Oxford, Ohio znd paid their respects to their daughter Miss Emily who is attending Western college there.

Accidents Numerous.

One dead and six injured was the auto accident toll in Sturgis vicinity Sunday. Luella Huber age six was killed when the car driven by her father overturned near there crushing the girl’'s head. Five others in the machine were injured.

Minerva Iffert who filed a claim of $4,5622.50 against the estate of Franklin ‘Juday deceased was granted a judgment of $2,695.50 in circuit court at Goshen Tuesday.

Criminal Carelessness.

Gulping down chocolate covered cathartic pills which were mistaken for candy has cost one little girl her life and another child is in a serious condition -at a hospital at Indianapolis.

The dead girl is Mary Allen Gould 3 who died a few hours after eating the medicine.

Her sister Glayds is seriously ill but expected to recover. : : The pills had been left on the dining room table by the girl’s mother.

Twice arrested and twice released on bonds on the same day on the same charge Joseph Kish of South Bend presented the most unusual case among those charged in City court at South Bend with drunkenness, Kish was arrested at 4 o’clock Sunday afternoon and was later released on bonds of $lOO. He was arrested again at 11:35 o’clock charged with intoxication, . :

Coroner C. B. Crumpacker with the aid of South Bend. police was seeking Monday to determine the identity of a middle aged man who was found dead in West Ford street at about 5 o’'clock Monday morning apparenily overtaken by death from heart disease while he was walking down the street.

Cat Attends Sunday School,

Mrs. Edna Tulford of Wawaka has a house cat that regularly atends Sunday school. When the Sunday schcol bell rings the cat starts for the services. -On one occasion the cat went to the pulpit with the minister and quietly remained throughout the services. It is never molested. - 7 \

Leßoy Eisenhauer 24 died at Fort Wayne of injuries suffered Sunday when an interurban flyer crashed into his automobile near Roanoke result ing in the instant death of his wife, Margaret Hisenhauer 21. Mr. Eisenhauer’s death was caused by a cerebral concussion,

Orville Mays residing alone near Fort Wayne awoke in the nick of time to save his life. He found the walls of ' his roomr bhlazing and the entire rear of the house in flames. He climbed out of an upstairs window and jumped to the ground below. .

Louis Berg 40 of South Chicago was killed when he fell beneath the wheels of an Elgin Joilet & Easern freight train on which he was attempting to steal a ride. '
